World of Warcraft just revealed the runtimes for two upcoming crossover events celebrating the release of Diablo 4. With the launch of Diablo 4 sandwiched by these events, World of Warcraft players will have plenty of things to do before and after the highly-anticipated action RPG drops.

Recently, players discovered evidence of a Diablo 4 crossover event coming to World of Warcraft on the Public Test Realm for Dragonflight. According to descriptions and datamined assets, players will be able to collect special cosmetics, items, and benefit from a massive boost to reputation and experience gains.

However, a more recent build of the PTR has now given players exact dates to expect this crossover. The event is actually split into two separate activities, the first being A Greedy Emissary. From May 25 through June 13, players can hunt down Treasure Goblins to earn special cosmetic rewards. Part 2, Welcome to Sanctuary, begins on June 15 and runs through July 10. This segment gives players a 50% experience boost and an 8% buff to reputation gains except for the new Loamm Niffen Renown faction from Embers of Neltharion.

Several items have been identified as possible rewards from this event:

  • Wirt’s Last Leg: a cosmetic one-handed mace that looks like a prosthetic leg.
  • The Treasure Nabbin’ Bag: a loot-filled sack as a cosmetic back piece.
  • The Horadric Haversack: a massive 36-slot bag.
  • Baal’ial: a red goat battle pet inspired by the Belial, the Lord of Lies.
  • The Enmity Ensemble: a cloak and hood set themed after Diablo himself.

World of Warcraft has not yet given an official announcement on this event, so the exact details are still subject to change. That said, considering the dates are perfectly timed to build hype for Diablo 4's release while giving incentive to log into World of Warcraft once the hype starts to calm down, they probably won’t be moved around. Players can also expect more concrete details on how to earn these cosmetic rewards once Blizzard makes the official announcement.

Players have been eagerly awaiting the release of Diablo 4 ever since the record-breaking beta weekend. Luckily, these fans who also play World of Warcraft will have Patch 10.1, Embers of Neltharion, to distract them once it drops on May 2. The new World of Warcraft content update adds an expansive new zone, tons of quests and activities, and the second raid in Dragonflight to the game, so players will have plenty of distractions until Diablo 4 and its crossover event kick off.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
