With the highly anticipated Battle for Azeroth release coming in AugustWorld of Warcraft players may be glad to hear that the expansion of the longstanding MMO has left alpha and begun beta testing. The first set of beta keys for the expansion have been sent out to those who have opted for the beta, and more keys should be going out soon.

If interested in trying out the Battle for Azeroth in beta, opting-in is done through the player’s BattleNet account. Simply go to account settings, click “games & codes” and go to “beta profile settings.” From there, the desired game can be selected from the list of Blizzard games available, such as Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo, StarCraft, and World of Warcraft.

Notably, Blizzard is also tracking the changes that will affect add-on developers, so when the expansion drops, players should be able to transition rather smoothly. Moreover, the level cap for the beta is now 120, and beta players can look forward to not having their characters wiped for the duration of the beta testing. With the expansion featuring new races, comprehensive class changes, island expeditions, warfronts, and more, it’s no surprise that many players are excited for the upcoming expansion to World of Warcraft, which also features some of the best boss battles in video games. These additions to the MMO may very well justify the price tag of $49.99 for the standard edition.

Nevertheless, there may still be players hoping and waiting for beta keys, with many more awaiting the full release of the expansion. During the wait, players should check out the Family Guy episode that parodies World of Warcraft’s famed Leroy Jenkins video. At the very least, it should provide a short, entertaining distraction for players who have yet to get beta keys.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth will be available for PC on August 14, 2018.
