For a limited time, World of Warcraft players can fight several old school world bosses across Azeroth for special loot. These bosses are just one part of World of Warcraft's ongoing 18th anniversary event. This year’s anniversary event for World of Warcraft is similar to last year’s, though it has come slightly early so as not to interfere with the launch of Dragonflight. During the anniversary, players can purchase exclusive cosmetics and gear, experience boosts, and participate in special PvP and PvE events. The anniversary event began on November 6, and lasts until November 27, the day before Dragonflight drops.RELATED: World of Warcraft Player Reaches Level 50 In 4 HoursAmong the many events for World of Warcraft’s anniversary, several old world bosses spawn around Azeroth. These bosses drop their original loot, much of which has semi-unique appearances, but tuned to item level 272 so it can be used while leveling in Dragonflight. Among the bosses, the infamous Doomwalker can be encountered in Tanaris, where he also drops the Doomwalker Trophy Stand toy and Illidari Doomhawk mount with a 100% rate. Players can also hunt down Lord Kazzak in the Blasted Lands, Azuregos in Azshara, and the Dragons of Nightmare in Duskwood, the Hinterlands, Ashenvale, and Feralas depending on which of the four dragons spawn that day.

Players can get a quest to defeat the Doomwalker from World of Warcraft fan favorite bronze dragon Chromie in the Caverns of Time, and to defeat the other bosses from their faction capitals. These quests reward 150 Timewarped Badges, which can be exchanged for special anniversary event rewards from the Caverns of Time. The bosses have daily loot lockout, while the quests themselves are weeklies.

While players are a little disappointed World of Warcraft did not add much new content since last year’s anniversary event, it is mostly understandable considering it has been hard at work on Dragonflight. Having an extra opportunity to earn limited-time gear, especially the Illidari Doomhawk, is also a good thing, as fans who have returned to the game for Dragonflight may not have had the chance to do so last year.

World of Warcraft’s ongoing 18th anniversary event will run concurrently with phase two of the Dragonflight pre-patch starting on November 15. This will allow players to participate in the Primal Storms world event across Azeroth. Players will soon be seeing dracthyr Evokers soaring into battle against the anniversary world bosses as they will be playable as well. Additionally, the first Dragonflight dungeon, Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr, will go live. Players will have two more weeks to participate in the pre-patch and the anniversary event before Dragonflight’s full launch.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC. Dragonflight launches on November 28.
