During Bethesda's E3 2018 press conference last year, the video game publisher officially announced Wolfenstein: Youngblood, a new co-op action game based in the Wolfenstein universe that puts players in the shoes of BJ Blazkowicz's twin daughters in 1980’s Paris, France. Now, alongside a fresh story trailer, the company has officially declared that the title will be releasing on July 26, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood will have players take on the roles of Jess and Soph Blazkowicz - colloquially known as The Terror Twins - with their mission being to liberate Paris from the Nazis while they search for their father, who has gone missing. Wolfenstein: Youngblood is to be the first open-ended co-op adventure in the long-running first-person shooter series, and players can dive into the action as BJ's twin daughters either with a friend or an AI companion.

In addition to a standard iteration, Wolfenstein: Youngblood will also have a Deluxe Edition that will include a "Buddy Pass" that allows owners to partner up with a friend, even if their pal doesn’t actually own the game. The Buddy Pass can only be given out to one friend at a time, and it lets them download and play Wolfenstein: Youngblood for free - that is, as long as they are playing with the owner of the Deluxe Edition.

The Deluxe Edition of Wolfenstein: Youngblood also comes with a bunch of cosmetic bonuses, including the Cyborg Skin Pack, which gives both Jess and Soph Blazkowicz titanium alloy versions of their Power Suit, guns, combat knives, and hatchets. What's more is that those who pre-order Wolfenstein: Youngblood will receive additional cosmetics through the Legacy Pack, which offers up some of the most iconic outfits and weapons of Wolfenstein protagonist BJ Blazkowicz. These include the Jacket Power Suit from The New Colossus, his US Army Power Suit, a WW2 Weapon Skin Set for ranged weapons, and more.

It's safe to presume that many Wolfenstein fans will be looking forward to what Youngblood has to offer, especially since it will be providing them with the chance to give co-op gameplay a go. That said, though, there may be others who would prefer a new numbered entry in the franchise instead. Thankfully, Bethesda has declared that Wolfenstein 3 is "absolutely" being made.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is scheduled to release on July 26, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
