The Witcher received its second and final trailer this past Halloween, and it left fans hungry for more.

Fans looking forward to the series will be happy to know that the showrunners have broken down the trailer, explaining some of the subtleties and fun facts revolving around The Witcher's characters, action, and world-building.

The theme of this show will heavily revolve around the idea of good and evil and will place both villains and heroes in situations where they can channel those concepts. Geralt as a character will struggle to pin down what it truly means to be a witcher, and will have a slower character arc than Yennefer, whom fans can expect to evolve almost every episode. Ciri will personally struggle with past trauma in the form of nightmares, which explains some of the trailer's more psychedelic scenes featuring her.

Concerning Geralt and Yennefer, the show will take its time developing the relationship between them as they have the unique dynamic of being people who don’t like to rely on others. That said, the sex and violence in the show will only serve to push the plot forward and will not exist for the sake of doing so.

When this violence concerns Geralt, Henry Cavill will be the fighting as he does all of his own stunts in the show. He even cast the horse who would be staring as his steed, Roach. Geralt has a special affinity toward Roach, and Henry believed the best way to portray this connection would be by acting with an animal he chose himself (which does make a lot of sense). Roach will be carrying Geralt's second sword. He has two in total: the steel one his back that he uses to battle against humans, and the silver one Roach carries that he uses to fight against monsters. The steel sword adorns a broach that Geralt received from the character Renfri, and he uses it as a sort of a moral compass or a way to figure out how to go about handling complicated situations.

As expected of a high-fantasy setting, the science of The Witcher's world will be magic, and magic will frequently appear throughout the show in the form of spells and potions. Geralt, specifically, uses magic to get an edge in battle. The side effects of some of the potions he drinks make his appearance more monstrous, but he'll need them to challenge some of the bigger and more unique monsters that didn't appear in the trailer.

The Witcher television show debuts on Netflix starting December 20.
