The Witcher 3 released over five years ago, but it is still beloved by many and considered one of the best RPGs of all time. Developer CD Projekt Red has kept the game alive through various means as fans enjoy it from around the world, and one recent item is a Witcher-themed sword calendar for 2021.
CD Projekt Red is quite busy with Cyberpunk 2077 finally releasing in just a few days. However, the upcoming futuristic role-playing game is not stopping content for all things Witcher, its fantasy-themed RPG. Kaer Morhen Forge, a blacksmith who happens to be officially licensed by CD Projekt Red to forge real Witcher-themed swords for purchase, recently posted a Witcher calendar based on their creations which is available to pre-order for the rest of December 6, 2020.
There are some amazing swords to collect in The Witcher 3, and all of the Witcher series, which offers a lot of content for the calendar. Each month showcases a different sword from The Witcher, like the Wolven Sword and the Zirael. Although it may be a bit niche, the sheer detail in the sword designs is impressive.
On Kaer Morhen Forge's Facebook page, they explain that if anyone is interested in the calendars, they need to simply shoot an email over with the subject "the best calendar ever." Kaer Morhen Forge is named after the location of the School of the Wolf, Kaer Morhen, where Witchers were trained at one point in the universe's canon.
The hype leading up to Cyberpunk 2077 is insane, and much of that is because of The Witcher 3. While the third entry into the Witcher series was something fans expected to be fun, the huge success of the game helped put CD Projekt Red on the map in many ways. There is a lot of attention to detail in The Witcher 3, and that is evident even in this sword calendar.
Cyberpunk 2077 was first revealed in 2012, and it is finally releasing eight years later. Many were excited the moment the game was revealed, but many more were interested once The Witcher 3 was released. It will be very interesting to see if Cyberpunk 2077 shares the same amount of detail, polish, and quality as The Witcher 3, and whether it too becomes an instant classic RPG.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming in 2021.
