“My first involved experience [with the franchise] was The Witcher 3,” he tells me, explaining how he’s now played developer CD Projekt Red’s 100-hour role-playing epic two-and-a-half times to completion, experimenting with different difficulty settings, first on regular difficulty and then on the game’s toughest setting, in order to find the perfect balance of fun and challenge. - GQ Magazine

Two and a half playthroughs is a ton of Witcher 3 playtime and it would be fascinating to find out Cavill's /played hours for each of those attempts. Depending on how much time is spent side-questing and exploring, a single playthrough of the game can take up to 100 hours for some players. It sounds like the actor has put a ton of time into the game, which definitely helps explains his dedication to this aspect of the source material, even if it's not the origin of the IP.
