Due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic, production of The Witcher season 2 has been delayed, but that doesn't mean fans will have to wait until 2022 for new Witcher content. It depends on how long the current situation lasts, but fans may be able to still see it at the end of 2021. Until then, it seems showrunner Hissrich isn't just going to let it fall into the background.

Taking to Twitter for a throwback, she revealed a new Witcher season 2 set photo from a month before while cautioning everyone to stay home and stay safe. Considering Nivellen actor Kristofer Hivju, perhaps better known as Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones, has tested positive for the virus, it likely hits close to home for her.

The image as seen below doesn't reveal much for fans on the franchise, though. Close inspection shows Geralt actor Henry Cavill in the background, and it's clear the filming is taking place in a forest. Not much more than that can be determined.

Still, it's easy to keep it on everyone's mind. The Witcher on Netflix was the top show in the world for quite a run, and there's a good chance that season 2 will be met with those same expectations.

The Witcher season 2 is in the works.
