Star of The Witcher Henry Cavill has revealed in an interview that he's been spending a lot of time on the strategy game Total War: Warhammer 3. Cavill is highly regarded for his roles as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher TV show and Superman in the DC cinematic universe, but he is also a known gamer, often speaking about his hobbies and showing them off online. Recently, Cavill went viral after uploading a video of him upgrading his gaming PC.

Apart from video gaming in general, Henry Cavill is also known to be a huge fan of the Warhammer 40K tabletop game. He has been on talk shows discussing the hobby and how he enjoys every part of it from the model building to painting to eventually playing. The Witcher star even got a chance to visit the UK Warhammer headquarters earlier in the year, being given a tour of the company that crafted his longtime hobby.

It is not too surprising, then, that Henry Cavill has stated the game he is most interested in at the moment is Total War: Warhammer 3. Speaking to Happy Sad Confused podcaster Josh Horowitz, Cavill discussed what he's been playing recently and said that he "loves" Total War: Warhammer 3, the final entry in the trilogy of games centered around Warhammer Fantasy. Cavill also says he's played a "fair amount" of the game, only to then correct himself and say he really means he's been spending "a lot" of time on it. The conversation occurs at timestamp 36:00 in the video below.

Considering that Cavill also has stated in the past that he enjoys the Total War series in general, it makes sense that he'd love the combination of two of his favorite franchises in the Total War: Warhammer games then. Previously, Henry Cavill was added as an Easter egg to Total War: Warhammer 2, lending his voice to the role of a particular High Elf Loremaster. There hasn't been any cameo from Cavill in the third game, but considering the Immortal Empires update added the High Elves to Total War: Warhammer 3, fans can still add him to their armies.

Later in the interview, Cavill also discussed his fondness for World of Warcraft, stating that Blizzard sent him a "massive statue of the Lich King." The Witcher star has been playing World of Warcraft for a long time and even missed the call telling him that he'd landed the Superman role due to playing the game. Luckily for Cavill, he managed to complete the raid and become the Man of Steel, a role he is looking to return to after a lot of uncertainty. For a while, it didn't seem as though Cavill would come back as Superman, but an end credits scene in Black Adam and recent Instagram videos have confirmed that he will once again throw the cape around his shoulders.

Total War: Warhammer 3 is available on PC.
