Fans' dreams of playing as the white wolf for free have come, as The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut is now free to download off of the GOG store for a limited time. Players will need to act fast, however, as the game is only available until 3 PM PT / 6 PM ET today.

Originally released in 2007 by CD Projekt Red, The Witcher takes place after the events of book series and follows the adventures of Geralt of Rivia, who wakes up with amnesia. The game features several different paths that Geralt may follow, which in turn affect the outcome of the game's overall story. The player's actions made throughout the game have consequences later on.

The Witcher is now free to pick up on GOG's home page, and can be claimed by simply clicking the button that says "Get it Free," and it will be added to your GOG account immediately. The title is DRM-free like all GOG titles, and is not tied to any particular store -- players can download it immediately, with no need to redeem a code.

With The Witcher receiving both a Netflix original series, a spin-off series, and multiple sequels on consoles, the 2007 title is the perfect entry point for any fans first getting introduced to Geralt of Rivia's world. The series has been critically acclaimed, even receiving a widely praised port to the Nintendo Switch in 2019.
