With the holiday season in full swing, gamers everywhere are looking to get their hands on the best deals they can find. Here’s one that relative newcomers to the Witcher series may be interested in: starting today, The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut is now available for all GOG Galaxy users to claim for free.

This won’t be the first time the first entry in CD Projekt RED’s acclaimed series is being given away on the platform, as The Witcher was free on the GOG store back in August. Since that was an one-day event, however, a lot of fans missed out on getting Geralt of Rivia’s original adventure, but that’s something they’ll be able to correct now.

According to GOG, there are a few steps users need to take to claim their copy. First, they must boot up the GOG Galaxy app (and update it if needed), and from there they must go to the “Recent” tab and check the banner at the top. Anyone who’s opted in to receive news, updates, and offers from GOG will find a giveaway button there. Clicking on that will make the game appear inside the app and their GOG collection, though GOG notes that it may take a while for it to show up there.

Another thing worth pointing out is that The Witcher hasn’t aged well in many regards since it came out in 2007. Even with the upgrades the Enhanced Edition brings, fans coming in from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may be turned off by the dated visuals and gameplay mechanics. Still, this is where the series and CD Projekt RED as a whole got their start, so for any fan curious to see how it all began, this is a deal they won’t want to pass up.

The Witcher is available for PC.
