There is no one particular reason that The Witcher 3 has remained so popular since its release in 2015. While not without its fair share of issues, the game really draws in players with its world design, character, unique abilities, armor, the card game Gwent, the main storyline, and so, so much more. All little things come together in The Witcher, bringing many fans from all walks of life with it.

As such, it’s not really surprising that The Witcher is popular in the cosplay community. Geralt and Ciri aren’t too complicated for cosplayers with basic resources, yet they can be really tricked out by the most hardcore Witcher 3 cosplayers. In fact, one recently shared cosplay took two years or so for a couple to complete.

Posted online by YouTuber and Redditor Alswulf and made alongside his wife are two sets of Witcher armor: Ciri Knight and Ursine Grandmaster. Both cosplays were in the works for 2 years, though the Ciri Knight armor was finished within the past couple of days, and the Ursine Grandmaster armor was finished about two months ago.

For both armor sets, Alswulf mentions that his wife made every belt, bag, scabbard, and basically anything made from leather. Alswulf’s part in this epic Witcher 3 cosplay comes down to helping their blacksmith with the chainmail, metal bracers, shoulders, medallion, and breastplate. As seen below, the couple’s creation is spot-on, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Many in the comments absolutely agree.

Alswulf also mentions that they are excited to put the two suits of armor into action, though when and where was not specified. Still, no matter where they take their Geralt and Ciri cosplays in full-clad armor, it’s going to stand out. After all, the armor design is one of the biggest components of the Witcher 3, and something that many fans of the game fixate on.

For example, when The Witcher Netflix series was first released, many fans were quite upset with how the show’s Nilfgaard armor contrasted the in-game armor. In-game, Nilfgaard armor was a memorable, metallic black, but the Witcher Netflix series’ Nilfgaard armor was very wrinkly. The showrunner explained why, being that it needed to be “mass-produced” and serve the army traveling North, but still, many were quick to call it out because of their love for the series.

Based on this Witcher cosplay, it seems safe to say that Alswulf and his wife love it the same way as these fans, with painstaking attention to detail.

The Witcher 3 is available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X Upgrades are in the works.
