The Witcher is an epic story set in a fantasy world created by author Andrzej Sapkowski. He published his first novel, Sword Of Destiny, in 1992. His books were so well written, immersive and creative that they inspired CD Projekt Red to make a few games out of it. Although the developers changed a few things, they kept many characters, storylines, and monsters from the books. Then in 2019, The Witcher became a Netflix series, with Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.

In the games and the Netflix series, fans can find their favorite characters like Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, Triss, and Jaskier/Dandelion. Even minor characters like Yarpen and Roach have some screen time, but not every character got that chance, at least not yet. The books have a few important characters that have yet to physically appear in either the games or the Netflix series.

Spoilers for the upcoming games or seasons as these characters might still appear in future releases, specifically Netflix's show.

6 The False Ciri

This "fake" Ciri isn't the same one that was hired by Queen Calanthe for Geralt when he came to claim her in episode 7 of Netflix's first season. This false Ciri actually appears in Chapter 5 of Andrzej Sapkowski's novel, The Time of Contempt.

She was first mentioned by Codringher and Fenn when they advised Geralt to use a lookalike as a decoy for Ciri to throw Rience off their tracks, but he refused. After Rience's accomplice, Schirrú, failed at capturing the girl and found notes about the lookalike, they caught her instead. When Emperor Emhyr found out the truth, he sent the false Ciri to Darn Rowan, and he employed Stefan Skellen to find the real Cirilla.

5 Maria 'Milva' Barring

Maria appeared in Baptism Of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and The Lady of the Lake. Although her real name is Maria, she is known to the dryads as Milva, and to the elves, she's called Sor'ca. She's an archer and one of the few non-dryads allowed in Brokilon.

Before joining Geralt in his search to find Ciri, she used to work for the dryads, keeping them safe from their enemies. She would find some dryads hunters, pretend to be one of them, and then lead them into a trap in the Brokilon forest. She managed to kill more or less 100 humans before being found out and disappearing. She played a big part in Geralt's life, and hopefully, fans will get to see her in either the series or the next game.

4 Angoulême

Angoulême was a human bandit that appeared in Sapkowski's fourth novel of The Witcher, The Tower of the Swallow. She was the daughter of a prestigious Cintran woman and a low-class father. Her birth was illegitimate, so she was sent away to live with distant relatives until she was 15 years old. She was then sent to an orphanage when her family couldn't take care of her during the war with Nilfgaard.

Angoulême later discovered that the priests in charge of the orphanage hid a terrible secret. They were using the kids as sexual exploits for pedophiles. Angoulême and six other kids killed a few of them before turning to a life of thieving. They eventually joined Nightingale, aka Homer Straggen, and his gang of bandits for a while before moving on. Although the kids were captured and killed by Governor Fulko Artevelde's men, Angoulême was kept alive for questioning. As she was giving them answers to the whereabouts of Nightingale, she also revealed their plan to ambush Geralt. After Fulko warned Geralt about the revelation, Geralt asked him to spare Angoulême's life. She then joined Geralt in his quest to find Ciri.

Isengrim Faoiltiarna, aka Iron Wolf, was an elf that appeared in The Time of Contempt novel. As a member of the Scoia'tael, he was one of the elves to be smuggled into the Thanedd Island by the elven mage, Francesca Findabair. He also participated in the attack on the Brotherhood of Sorcerers.

After Cahir lost his chance to capture Ciri (once again), he was held responsible for the false Ciri sent to Emperor Emhyr. Isengrim was in charge of retrieving him for his betrayal. Isengrim then became the Colonel of the Vrihedd Brigade in the Battle of Brenna and was captured by Dillingen. He was about to be executed for his role under the Nilfgaardian banner but escaped.

2 Stefan Skellen

Stefan Skellen appeared in Sapkowski's novel, The Time of Contempt when summoned to a meeting with Emperor Emhyr. Stefan, aka Tawny Owl, served as a coroner to the imperator, and he was a member of the Imperial Secret Service. Emperor Emhyr had ordered him to retrieve Ciri and bring her to him. To increase his chances of finding her, Skellen hired many mercenaries and Leo Bonhart.

When it was time to discuss Ciri's fate with Bonhart and Rience, Ciri managed to set herself free and run away. To stop her from escaping, Skellen threw an Orion, which caused a wound to her face that eventually became her famous scar.

1 Leo Bonhart

Leo Bonhart was once a soldier from Ebbing before becoming a bounty hunter for hire. He was known to be skilled with the sword, so no one doubted his claims of killing three witchers; one from the School of the Wolf, one from the School of the Griffin, and another from the School of the cat. He proudly kept their medallions as trophies.

Bonhart appeared in The Baptism Of Fire and The Tower of the Swallows. He was hired by Stefan Skellen to find and kill Ciri. He was also instructed by the Baron of Casadei to capture her alive. However, after finding the girl, he physically abused her, kept her imprisoned, and forced her to combat others in an arena. He was also the one to give her Zireael, the famous sword she has in the game. Ciri did eventually escape and after being on the run for a while, she finally got a chance for revenge.
