When talking about The Witcher 3's great characters, most mention the likes of Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, and Triss. The villains, on the other hand, are often forgotten. However, they're a huge part of what makes the game's narrative so compelling. Whether they're truly evil or a lot more complicated, the antagonists are just as captivating as the heroes.

Plenty of credit for their greatness should be given to their voice actors. So many of them deliver incredible performances throughout both the main game and the expansions. Unfortunately, the identity of some of them is unknown. Thus the English voices behind the Crones and Imlerith can't be given the credit they deserve. But many of the others are here to be celebrated.

10 Whoreson Junior

Out of the four crime bosses in Novigrad, Whoreson Junior is definitely the cruelest. He takes pleasure in capturing and brutalizing women. His goal in Witcher 3 is to take down the other three bosses with the support of Radovid. Geralt and Ciri, however, stand in his way.

Ewan Bailey provides the voice for this lowlife as he also does for Dudu and Vimmie Vivaldi. Witcher 3 is not the only game with Bailey on the cast, though. Some of the others include Star Wars: The Old Republic and Fable II. He also does his fair share of live-action work, particularly in the UK.

9 Bloody Baron

The Bloody Baron is one of the more complex villains in the Witcher 3. He spends the game feeling guilty about the terrible things he’s done and tries to atone. However, a man who abuses his wife and mistreats most of the people around him is still a villain.

The man behind the Baron’s voice is James Clyde. His role in Witcher 3 is somewhat of a rarity as he doesn’t have a lot of voice acting credits. However, he does voice Derrick the Executioner in Nioh, and multiple characters in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2. He spends much of his time appearing in a wide range of movies and TV shows.

8 Caleb Menge

Menge acts as the Commander of the Temple Guard and leader of the Witch Hunters. The second title indicates what sort of man he is, as he ruthlessly hunts down mages. Although, after meeting with Geralt and Triss, his days of hurting anyone come to an end.

Menge, Dijkstra, and Francis Bedlam are all voiced by Richard Hawley. In the UK, Hawley has a successful career in television. But Americans might recognize him as the Deputy Prime Minister in Love Actually.

7 Olgierd Von Everec

In the Hearts of Stone expansion, Olgierd acts as a secondary antagonist. He's not pure evil, but he's done some terrible things. Most of his misdeeds come from having no empathy, which he lost in the bad deal he made with Gaunter O'Dimm. A deal that Geralt gets involved in during the DLC.

Paul Thornley brings the popular character to life with his strong vocal performance. The actor has been regularly appearing in television shows since 2003. And he does his fair share of movies too, one of them being the critically acclaimed Les Misérables.

6 Sylvia Anna

Sylvia, aka Syanna, is the sister of the Duchess of Toussaint. As a child, she was banished from her birthplace for various behavioral problems and because people thought she was affected by the Curse of the Black Sun. Years later, Syanna manipulates the powerful Dettlaff to kill the people who’d wronged her. In the Blood and Wine expansion, Geralt has to put an end to the murders one way or another.

The voice of Syanna belongs to Antonia Bernath, who also lends her talents to characters in Control and Hitman 2. She has a few notable TV credits as well. One of which is Laura Edmunds, who she plays in season six of Downton Abbey.

5 Dettlaff Van Der Eretein

Even though he is also a victim in Syanna’s revenge plot, Dettlaff is still very much a villain. This is clear when he invades Toussiant with his fellow vampires who kill a lot of innocent people. Whether the Vampire pays for his crimes or not is up to Geralt.

The one to supply Dettlaff with a voice is Andrew Greenough. Unlike the Vampire, Greenough is also in the base game as the voice of Ge'els. As for his live-action career, he's in 2009's Sherlock Holmes as well as the more recent Men in Black: International, and The Gentleman. He's no stranger to TV work either as he appears in many British shows.

4 King Radovid V

The heartless Radovid rules Redania with an iron fist. Although, his true villainous nature is shown through his treatment of mages; as he executes the magical beings without mercy. It's up to Geralt whether the king stays in power or dies by the end of the game.

The villain is voiced by Nico Lennon, who has multiple video game credits to his name. His tones can be heard in the likes of Dragon Age IIZombi, and the Risen series.

3 Eredin

As the leader of the Wild Hunt, Eredin spends the entire game tracking down the elusive Ciri. He and his army slaughter many in his pursuit. And in the end, he goes toe to toe with Geralt.

Eredin's deep and powerful voice is that of Steven Hartley. Gamers might know him as the voice of Zynbel in Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice or as Sir Vilhelm from Dark Souls III's Ashes of Ariandel DLC. Hartley also appears in plenty of British TV shows.

2 Gaunter O'Dimm

The terrifying yet calm Gaunter O' Dimm is the main villain in the Hearts of Stone expansion. The mysterious magician forces Geralt to do his bidding so he can get his hands on Olgierd's soul. In the process, he reveals himself to be an evil and manipulative individual.

It's Alex Norton who voices the antagonist. Norton has forged a solid career both in live-action and voice acting. A couple of his more notable roles are as Captain Bellamy in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Rab in Dragon Quest XI.

1 Emhyr Van Emreis

Emhyr is not really an antagonist in this game, but the evil man is certainly still a villain. His main focus in The Witcher 3 is to find his daughter Ciri and push her into becoming the Empress of Nilfgaard.

Charles Dance lends his voice to the character. The actor has had a long and successful career on stage and screen. Although these days, he is primarily known for portraying Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones.
