The Witcher franchise has been incredibly successful in most of its iterations including books, games, and the most recent Netflix series. Unsurprisingly, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was incredibly well-received and has been ported to a number of consoles. The most recent port for the Switch recently updated the Korean version, and the improvements to graphics among other features have excited many players.

The Witcher series focuses on Geralt of Rivia as he tackles monsters in a series of quests launched through morality or the promise of coin. Despite a simple premise, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt offers a lot of gameplay and a compelling main quest. Players of the Nintendo Switch players were pleased to get the game on the console, despite some criticism about the graphics in the port, yet perhaps in light of this, players will be very excited at the thought of the upcoming update if it delivers what it has for other regions.

The Korean update (Patch 3.6) for The Witcher 3 on the Switch includes a significant graphics update and gives players the ability to change options, motion blur, sharpening, depth of field, water quality, and foliage range. These strides forward will undoubtedly please Switch fans, but for players with two consoles, there is also good news in the form of cross-saves. If players wish to change consoles and maintain their saves, they now can and this will be exciting for players who want to export their progress from other systems. With this update, it seems that the already acclaimed Witcher 3 Switch port still has some methods of surprising fans.

The Witcher games have benefited from quality RPG mechanics but also from the franchise thriving as a whole. The Witcher 3 saw a huge increase in sales on the back of the Netflix series and the variety of content has managed to attract a number of audiences, both old and new, to every version of the game. There have already been petitions from Witcher fans who are keen to see a new game, and it will be interesting to see if CD Projekt Red succumbs to the demands of players. In the meantime, players have plenty of material to tide them over.
