It's no secret that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has quickly become regarded as one of the best RPGs of all time. With the success of The Witcher Netflix series and the recent milestone of 50 million copies sold, it won't come as a shock that many players are still dedicated to Geralt and his many adventures. Now it seems that players can expect a new way to enjoy the game through a graphics overhaul mod.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released back in May of 2015. The series itself is named after a series of novels of the same name by author Andrzej Sapkowski, and was developed by CD Projekt RED. The game went on to be wildly successful and inspired many open-world RPGs that came later, including CD Projekt RED's own upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.

Players can now take their Witcher contracts to the next level with The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project. Created by Nexusmods user Halk Hogan PL, this project is a mod that focuses on a complete overhaul of The Witcher 3's visuals, including 4K textures and models.

On The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project page itself, Halk Hogan PL says that the goal of this project is to "improve the graphics by reworking models and textures to better quality, preserving the original style." It seems from their recent 12.0 Ultimate preview video, they are certainly on their way to accomplishing that goal.

Considering how far technology has progressed over the past 5 years, it makes perfect sense that modders would be able to make something look this impressive. This mod is a welcome sight for players who are wanting a fresh coat of paint on their favorite game. One can only hope this level of detail and is put into other upcoming remasters of RPGs, like Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One
