It seems a good time to be a Witcher fan in 2022. With The Witcher 3 soon seeing its next-gen remaster for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and a new season of The Witcher TV show having just dropped, fans of the adventures of Geralt of Rivia have plenty to look forward to and content to keep them busy in the meantime. While biding their time for the upcoming The Witcher 3 remasters and The Witcher season 3, some fans have sought to share their love for the series with some impressive artwork.

From fan art imagining what a young Vesemir would look like in a Witcher prequel, to crossover art that combines the cutesy, cartoonish style of Animal Crossing: New Horizons with the gritty world of The Witcher 3, Witcher fans are constantly creating new tributes to their favorite fantasy series. Starting out as a book series back in the 1980s, The Witcher largely grew to huge popularity, especially in the West, due to the success of the games. Much of the fan art created for The Witcher uses the games as inspiration, such as one piece that takes fans back towards the beginning of the game.

The Witcher 3 fan posted their painting to Reddit, in a video which shows them bringing the colours of their painting out through varnishing. The player potrayed a scene of Geralt riding up to Hanged Man's Tree, a location found just as the player leaves the starting area of White Orchard and makes their way into the true open-world area of The Witcher 3. Located in Velen, Hanged Man's Tree is suitably a tree where a few corpses can be seen hanging as a meal for crows. The tree is often noted by fans as a gritty opening to the world of The Witcher and even as an introduction to the in-game area of Velen.

Fans of The Witcher 3 quickly found the post and praised its portrayal of Hanged Man's Tree. One fan comedically wrote "well if that isn't the loveliest picture of corpses swinging in the breeze, I don't know what is," while another wrote "toss a coin to your painter," a reference to The Witcher TV show, something that has divided fans as of late. Some believe that the portrayal of The Witcher in season 2 was inaccurate to the books, causing series creator Lauren Hissrich to answer questions over Twitter.

Despite some fans disliking the second season of the show, it seems The Witcher 3 will always have fans remembering their time fondly spent in the Continent. Some fans are even returning to the game now, as The Witcher 3 recently saw a huge player spike.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
