Places of Power are scattered throughout the expansive map in the Witcher 3. Each Place of Power will grant Geralt one ability skill point, as well as a temporary buff to one of the five signs. Because there are a limited amount of skill points in the game, players should find each location to make Geralt as powerful as possible.

Many of the locations are in unassuming and hard-to-reach areas. Players will struggle to identify all of the locations without a detailed guide for each. This article will help gamers find each Place of Power, with a detailed description of how to get there.

All Five Place Of Power Buffs

Each place of power will be marked by a particular sign. After discovering a Place of Power, the magical energy will transfer a buff Geralt based on the sign in each location. The five signs in the Witcher 3 provide alternative benefits for gamers. The impact of the buff will be contingent upon which abilities gamers decide to focus on while leveling up Geralt.

  • Yrden: The sign uses magical energy to trap creatures and enemies. The effects of the sign depend on the level and type of enemy. Some larger creatures will be immune to its effects.
  • Igni: Igni, short for ignite, creates a damaging fireball that has a chance to stagger enemies. If upgraded, the sign will produce a continuous flow of fire energy.
  • Aard: The unique effects of Aard cause enemies to be stunned or pushed back. Geralt will wield the power of kinetic energy to fend off foes from close range.
  • Quen: Geralt's Quen abilities are primarily shield-based. The shield will block at least one attack before depleting. Additionally, Quen provides increased stamina regeneration, which can be upgraded to produce an impactful effect.
  • Axii: The magical Axii is a form of mind control. Geralt is able to trick creatures and enemies, altering their behavior. Axii can be used to make enemies passive or force them to attack. The ability will also reduce the fear level of a mount, as well as have the chance to stun foes.

Where To Find The Places Of Power In White Orchard

White Orchard Places of Power Witcher 3

The maps in the Witcher 3 are massive, and gamers will need to cover great distances to locate all of the Places of Power. In White Orchard, there are a total of six locations gamers will want to discover. As a reward, players will receive six skill points to allocate as they please. Below are all six locations, including a brief description of how to reach them.

Cackler Bridge

The first place of power can be found just to the east of the Cackler Bridge in White Orchard. Players should travel to the east/northeast of the sign. The Place of Power is near the top of the hill in the small forested area.

Abandoned Village

Next, gamers will need to travel to the Abandoned Village. The Place of Power is almost directly to the east of the village. It will be located in the first heavily forested area players encounter. Players can use the Abandoned Site and Herbalist as a reference point. If they have traveled further east than those two locations, the Place of power will be to the west, in line with the Village.

There is an additional place of power to the southwest of the Abandoned Village. Gamers will find it south of the Broken Village sign just to the east of the bandit camp in the woods. It may be easier to spot if players ride along the road that leads south from the Broken Village and go directly east once they have encountered the bandit camp. If players reach the end of the road, they will need to double back to the northeast.

West Of The Mill

Players will find the fourth Place of power to the south of Nilfgaardian Garrison and north of the Sawmill. Gamers should follow the road leading south from Nilfgaardian or travel north on the same road from the Sawmill. Once players are directly to the west of the Mill, they should leave the road and travel directly to the east. The Place of Power will be in the general area between the two parallel roads that lead north/south.

Graveyard North Of The Mill

Gamers will need to travel directly to the north from the Mill to find the next Place of Power. This location is the easiest to find, as it will be right at the end of the loop in the road in the Graveyard.

North Of The Graveyard

The sixth and final Place is located due north of the graveyard. Gamers should look at their map and peruse the areas to the north of the graveyard and directly east from the northern edge of the Nilfgaardian island.
