Destiny 2's Witch Queen expansion is bringing a suite of new weapons and armor for players to hunt down. Until now, exotic weapons were a mystery, but the preview managed to sneak its way onto the internet before it was supposed to.

Bungie aims this Destiny 2 expansion to bring a campaign experience resembling the likes of Doom and Titanfall 2. The expansion will introduce Savathun's Lucent Brood, a new, light-wielding enemy type, and players will be able to take them on with four new exotics coming to the game.

Twitter user Liz, known for sharing leaked and data-mined information about Destiny 2, showcased a 15-second preview of the new exotic weapons. The first weapon players will see resembles a rail-gun that fires multiple shots in rapid succession, potentially being an arc linear fusion rifle. The second weapon Bungie showcases looks like a heavy grenade launcher, but instead of lobbing grenades, players will launch Hive worms at their foes. The third weapon appears briefly, and it's one that players have seen in the Witch Queen's promotional material: exotic SMG Osteo Striga. The last weapon in this preview is a glaive, a brand-new weapon type in Destiny 2, which has the ability to not only create a Ward of Dawn, but also spawn what appears to be healing orbs.

The Osteo Striga is an exotic SMG that players can get a hold of by pre-ordering the Destiny 2: Witch Queen Deluxe Edition. The preview notes that the season pass is required, suggesting that two of these weapons are only accessible in the expansion, while the other exotic is only available through the season pass as tradition for Destiny 2.

Some players might feel disappointed in how many exotics were showcased in this preview, especially given how Bungie showcased more exotics for Beyond Light than this trailer. In addition, this preview did not show off any new exotic armor pieces, which may come at a later date. Interestingly, the trailer did not give the names for any of the new exotic weapons.

Regardless, players might feel excited from what this trailer previewed. The new glaive looks perfect for providing utility to a fireteam, and the new grenade launcher firing Hive worm babies is simply diabolical. With Destiny 2's Witch Queen on the horizon, Bungie might be switching everything into high gear with new details in the coming weeks. Players will want to look out for the studio's weekly blog post for any more updates.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
