While most gamers will agree that Wii Sports is one of best party games of all time, it isn't exactly the type of game that calls for players to invest a huge amount of time mastering it. The game was designed for casual fun, not for displays of skill. But clearly no one told that to streamer NicroVeda, who recently achieved a perfect score in the bowling mini-game, all while unable to see the screen in front of him.

A perfect score in bowling is known as a 300 because that's the highest possible score. Getting a 300 is already an impressive feat in Wii Sports, as doing so means a player rolled a strike every single frame. Even one spare would have ruined NicroVeda's run. The fact that he did it while blindfolded makes his achievement all the more awe-inspiring.

NicroVeda had been streaming for over seven hours straight when he bowled his perfect game. Earlier in the stream he had come achingly close, bowling a 299, one point less than a perfect game. Some viewers called for him to give up at that point, but NicroVeda persisted, and went on to bowl a 300, stunning both himself and his audience. Click here to see the clip.

One trick that many blindfolded gamers employ is to rely on sound cues to guide their runs, like the speedrunner who beat the hardest level of Battletoads blindfolded. In Wii Sports bowling, a player can figure out where their character will release the ball based on a number of clicks. NicroVeda combined this with muscle memory, and some good luck, to roll his perfect game.

There are currently no leaderboards for a blindfolded perfect bowling game in Wii Sports, so it's entirely possible that this is the first time that anyone has done this. It's pretty amazing that even a game so popular that it's credited for the Wii's massive success, players are still finding ways to set new records.

Wii Sports has seen a spike in interest lately, likely due to gamers socially distancing. The price of Wii Sports has sky-rocked almost 200 percent in the last month, and it could go even higher if restrictions on gatherings aren't eased. Hopefully this means that more amazing records like this one will be set in the near future.

Wii Sports is available now for Wii.
