But after news surfaced about four additional songs being included in the movie, fans don't know what to expect from creators. Will all classic songs be included, or will some be replaced? And what kind of role will the new songs have in the movie? If some classics will be replaced, which will be the ones to go Here's everything we know about Glinda songs that could be included in the movie remake of Wicked.

6 Dancing Through Life

Ariana Grande Elphaba Concert Special

"Dancing Through Life" is the centerpiece of the musical filled with melody and lyrics that take the plot further. Due to this, it's unlikely that creaters would leave it out of the movie. It's also a shining moment for Glinda, both vocally and in terms her character development. But because it is a challenging song to sing, the question is: will Ariana Grande be able to keep up with the ups and downs that the song demands vocally?

Most people associate Glinda with the fabulous Kristin Chenoweth. While her voice is very different from Grande's, she too has a thin, airy voice, and Glinda's songs are better off sung by artists like Grande and Chenoweth. This may be a creative choice regarding the characters. Glinda, the good witch has a more positive, optimistic, airy, thin voice, while Elphaba has a deeper, darker tone to balance the palette. Both of their characters feature in this song, and if included in the musical, it will highlight the complementary qualities of Grande and Erivo's voices.

5 What Is This Feeling

Ariana Grande has performed Wicked songs before; for example "The Wizard and I," a fan-favorite Elphaba song. Even though the song will not be performed by Glinda, this performance allows fans to examine Grande's vocal presence in the musical. Having already mastered one of the most challenging songs in the show, fans don't have to worry about her role or ability to take on songs like "What Is This Feeling." Sung in Act I, "What Is This Feeling" serves as an introduction to the relationship of Elphaba and Glinda. It perfectly demonstrates a seemingly unlikely and somewhat antagonistic relationship between two very different young women.

In the Broadway production, Chenoweth (and every other part of the original cast) placed the bar incredibly high, demonstrating the perfect vocals needed to pull off a live musical like Wicked. Grande, on the other hand, has more of a pop voice. This means, her vocal signatures are almost exclusively a part of the pop genre, which might be a big change for the role of Glinda that fans have to get used to. Nevertheless, Grande's hard work and Broadway training will certainly shine through in this performance.

Ariana Grande Performance

Yet another song that would be dearly missed by fans of the Broadway production, Popular is bound to be in the movie. And as one of the most characteristic songs of the production, expectations are high. It also has a more Broadway-style and moves further from the pop style Grande is known for. It starts off as a musical dialogue, and sometimes even while singing, the song snaps back to dialogue and then again into song.

Some people think this might be a lot to ask from Ariana Grande; however, many people don't know that Grande has had Broadway training in the past. Though her current style and vocal performance might be a little more pop-song than theater fans are used to, her performance will surely be stellar in the role of Glinda. She is an airy soprano singer, but is fully capable of accessing her chest voice and changing styles and ranges in the blink of an eye, much like the original Glinda, Kristen Chenoweth.

3 For Good

"For Good" is the signature ballad of Wicked and a perfect one for Ariana Grande to perform. If anything is sure, it's that Grande's voice is perfect for a ballad like this one. She can control her voice like few singers can, making her a perfect partner for any duet. What's more, her soprano voice is perfect for a strong ballad like this one.

Most likely, none of the classic hits of the movie will be replaced by new original songs. However, they will certainly be elevated and written to perfection to fit the vocal range and style of the performer, in this case, Ariana Grande.

2 Thank Goodness

"Thank Goodness" is a gem of the Broadway production, and one of the biggest arcs of the character Glinda. Although this number could possibly be replaced by another Glinda-specific song in the movie, it's also possible that creators will leave it in to honor the original production.

If they choose to leave it in, Ariana Grande will have to fill some big shoes. It's a challenging song to sing, there are a lot of long notes, and the monotonous parts in the song are hard for some singers to manage. But taking into consideration Grande's training and talent, this too will most likely be performed to perfection.

1 New Songs

There's a lot of mystery around the new songs, as there should be — but some details are public. It's certain, that at least three new original songs will be written for the movie. These will most likely be written in accordance with the wonderful talents involved in the movie. Most remakes of well-known musicals write one or two originals to highlight the voice and style of the new actress playing the role, in this case, those would be Grande and Erivo.

There will also be one added song that's unknown to fans, but isn't a newly written original. Instead, it's a song that was cut from the Broadway production. Surely, it will become clear which is which after the movie premiere, but people are already buzzing about the news.

The initial release date of the movie Wicked was set to be December 22, 2021.
