Far Cry 6 has enjoyed a successful release, with fans giving praise to the largest Far Cry game to date. The game has also received a very positive critical reception, and the game has maintained that classic Far Cry feel. Some, however, feel that Far Cry 6 hasn’t done enough to differentiate itself from other entries in the series, with complaints that it feels a bit same-y. For those fans, Far Cry 6's season pass will likely not be appealing as it includes several classic DLC.

For fans who can’t get enough of the classic Far Cry-style game though, much of the content included in Far Cry 6's season pass will be exciting. Far Cry 6's season pass will aim to keep Far Cry fans invested in the game over the coming year, beyond completing the main story. Fortunately for players who have already completed the main story of Far Cry 6, the first season pass drop is just around the corner.

For fans looking to play more Far Cry content beyond the main story, Far Cry 6’s season pass may be of interest. What will be of interest to fans of Far Cry 3 is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, an expansion set in a retro-futuristic world. The expansion was warmly received by Far Cry fans and has recently been in the news as a Netflix series based on the title, Captain Laserhawk, will be coming soon. Blood Dragon will be worth picking up either as a blast from the past, or as a precursor to its upcoming Netflix series.

Blood Dragon isn’t the only classic expansion in Far Cry 6, however, as Far Cry 6’s Villains DLC have garnered attention. These expansions will focus on some of the Far Cry series’ most compelling villains of recent times. The featured villains are Far Cry 3's Vaas, Far Cry 4's Pagan Min, and Far Cry 5's Joseph Seed. Despite once being enemies, fans are eager to see the return of these classic Far Cry villains as the series has become renowned for its antagonists. Giancarlo Esposito plays the latest villain in the Far Cry series, Anton Castillo, who has impressed fans and looks set to rank among the Far Cry series' best villains.

What is Far Cry 6’s Vaas DLC

While Vaas is a familiar face, the roles will be reversed in the Villains DLC, as the players will find themselves assuming the role of the former antagonist. Players will be living out Vaas’ memories in his expansion, discovering his backstory, and finally experiencing what a Far Cry game looks like from a different perspective.

Although it seems fans will still be on the receiving end of some of Vaas’ villainous behavior, as the expansion’s trailer sees Jason Brody momentarily become the villain, repeating some of Vaas’ iconic moments. All three of the Far Cry's Villains DLC will be roguelike in nature, and the player’s mission will reset upon death. However, they will be able to use the knowledge of previous runs to push on further.

The Far Cry series has seen a number of great villains across its mainline games and expansions, but for many, Vaas is the favorite. The character has become one of the most notorious in gaming, with his line about “the definition of insanity” standing as an iconic line for the series. Many are eager to see what the Vaas DLC mission has in store, as the available trailers, for now, are fairly vague. Fans won’t have long to wait until they get to play Vaas’ expansion as it will be the first to release, and is scheduled for a November 2021 release.
