Instagram has rolled out a few new filters for fans of different franchises in the last few days. One of which has been "Find out what Pokemon you are," and it has been great for a lot of fans to find out if they are their favorite Pokemon. The issue some users are having is finding the filter and getting it started. The filter is found in the app by swiping left to add to stories and selecting the Pokeball, or by following the link provided here on a mobile device.

Filters are a way for Instagram users to change the way their pictures look or add something that completely changes the photo. With video filters, users will have some accessory added to the video. For the Pokemon filter, it adds a billboard on the forehead of the user and scrolls through Pokemon. It stops at what Pokemon either resembles the user in the video or a random Pokemon in the filter. It has not been confirmed which it is.

Filters like the Which Pokemon Are You require the user to be in a video format. Users will need to press down on the button to start the recording as there is a small delay between the recording starting and the scrolling through Pokemon starting. Once the video has played for a short amount of time, the app will decide what Pokemon the users resemble. Whether or not will become the mobile phenomenon that was Pokemon GO remains to be seen, but at least Pokemon fans have more to do on their phones.

The addition of the filter is a fun new way for Pokemon to become even more prevalent in popular culture than it already is. Along with the recent partnership with Adidas, the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield, and the persistent popularity of Pokemon GO, the Pokemon franchise continues to reach new heights.

Some users will be happy with the result, while others will get frustrated that they did not get their favorite Pokemon. It does appear that only the original 150 from the Kanto region are in the filter for now, and it is unknown if the future generations of Pokemon will be added in the filter to give everyone the chance to get their favorite.
