A GTA Online player shared a clip of the game where an NPC goes absolutely wild, spinning in place like a ballerina or figure skater. Bugs are a fairly common thing to encounter in open world games like Grand Theft Auto Online, but it's still an amusing sight to see.

GTA Online launched nearly a decade ago, and to Rockstar Games' credit, it's ironed out a lot of the more pervasive bugs in the title. Of course, mix in a little lag and anything is possible, which looks like it may have been at play in this latest clip.

GTA player and Reddit user Unlikely-Plastic-775 shared a video clip of their encounter with an enemy NPC that went humorously awry. After entering a room, the player notices the enemy in the corner, and the two take aim to fire at each other. However, something goes wrong, and the multiple shots fired by Unlikely-Plastic-775 don't seem to connect at all, and the NPC stands unmoving for a moment. That suddenly changes, though, when the NPC takes a single shot and then begins spinning around rapidly, firing off in all directions before dramatically beginning to collapse from being shot multiple times.

It's possible the player lagged or temporarily lost their connection to the server. The game likely didn't register the player's shots at first as a result, and when the gamer's connection stabilized, it likely tried to display all of the actions the NPC had taken at once. It's not clear if the physics involved of being shot multiple times is why the NPC spins while firing, or if it experienced some kind of targeting glitch due to the lag. Regardless, seeing the NPC respond this way in the midst of a mission must have been quite funny for the player. Thankfully, they didn't get shot by the GTA NPC after they'd already died, like another player recently experienced.

Of course, odd physics and animation glitches in Grand Theft Auto are far from unheard of. Players have experienced moments where GTA's cars seemingly defy gravity, or weird moments like jumping out of a flying vehicle just for the player character to rapidly spin during their descent like the blades of a helicopter. Other Rockstar Games titles aren't immune either, with a number of odd physics glitches existing in Red Dead Redemption 2, perhaps most notably the well-known bridge that can send Arthur and others flying through the air.

While the heyday of Grand Theft Auto Online may be in the past with Rockstar Games seemingly saying goodbye to GTA 5, the game is still extremely popular. It's not clear if GTA Online will change or even go offline when GTA 6 launches, but moments like these will likely stand out as a funny memory long after the series has moved on.

GTA Online is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
