Little Nightmares takes players on a twisted adventure as Six, a tiny child roaming around a mysterious boat, where they seemingly cook children and feed them to obese, mind-washed adults. As she tries to figure out the secrets of The Maw, she uncovers more than she was expecting. The second addition to the franchise introduces a new character, Mono, who alongside Six tries to unfold the secrets of the Signal Tower, which is hypnotizing the residents of The Pale City.

Both games present deep philosophical issues. Players believe that the first game was about gluttony, while the sequel criticizes our connection to technology. Ever since the release of the Little Nightmares games, many theories have emerged as players try to figure out the true meaning of the franchise, and possible next steps in the story.

With these three characters, players have to search for the girl's lost memories, and on the way, learn about and experience the feeling of having amnesia. While some people might be underwhelmed by the execution of the storyline, Path to Mnemosyne does a great job processing the meaning of amnesia.

This uniquely designed RPG game revolves around Thalia, and her adventure trying to figure out the meaning of her dreams. The comatose and anxiety-ridden heroine is tormented by horrid nightmares that won't let her wake up.

She Dreams Elsewhere dissects the nature of dreams and the extent to which they mirror and flow into reality. The game not only encourages players to think about the storyline but also submerges them into thrilling adventure gameplay.

No Man, a watchmaker is deeply depressed after losing his love, Miss Mass, a nightclub dancer. He embarks on a journey to find his one true love lost somewhere in the universe.

Genesis Noir masterfully uses the events of the Big Bang as a metaphor for a broken relationship between people. No Man (representing time) tries to stop Golden Boy (representing energy) to save Miss Mass (representing the mass of the universe). Players can't help but smile throughout the game, as both the story and the meaning behind it is genuinely and most positively weird and unique.

2 One Chance

One Chance

This game is known for being a stressful and lasting experience. It's all about making choices, and the harsh, irreversible consequences. Players step into the shoes of a scientist who with his team accidentally created a pathogen that will surely kill all living cells on the Earth. One Chance revolves around the protagonist's last days on Earth, and how he chooses to spend them.

The game will lead to players feeling helpless, as each ending is seemingly worst than the others. There seems to be no good way out of this mess, and ultimately players are left pondering for days and feeling empty inside. But it's not all bad. One Chance makes people take a hard look at their lives so they understand the meaning of making decisions and living with them. The game is incredibly simple and quick to play through, but the story is more harsh and jarring than any other on the list.

These two games are notorious for being exceptionally weird. Some might even say they're too weird. But that shouldn't and doesn't stop people from playing with them. Presenting: the morbid curiosity of humankind.

KIDS depicts the confusing nature of human interaction, on such a deep level, that it elicits anxiety in players. With weird movements, large crowds, and squeamish scenes, KIDS perfectly shows how humans fail to interact with each other.

Plug & Play is 15 minutes no one can unsee. It's weirdly perverted, uncomfortably graphics, yet still highly addictive. People can't seem to look away from the screen as they interact with these morbidly long fingers and other absurd scenes. This surreal and uncomfortable play with plugs takes only 15 minutes and is actually an award-winning interactive short film about something that transcends raw sexuality and reproduction: human connection and love.
