Weekly Game Trailer Roundup: March 25

By | 5 years ago

A bus from Hell, Siths, machine guns, Johnny Gat, and some slippery slopes headline this weekly video game trailer roundup! Didn’t get a big enough fix from the trailers we hosted throughout this past week? Well this roundup will satisfy the senses! There are a lot more featurettes than trailers, but who’s complaining? We’ve got a lot of quick videos – so you can breeze by these pretty fast!

This week’s roundup includes: Star Wars: The Old Republic, Lollipop Chainsaw, The Witcher 2, Max Payne 3, Saints Row: The Third, Dead or Alive 5, SSX, Armored Core V, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Up first is Star Wars: The Old Republic. This featurette showcases a “making of” the 1.2 update and The Legacy System. There were a lot of details addressing how things would change in a previous trailer after this new update, but now players can see a behind the scenes of what the developers were thinking. This feature goes in to great depth to explain how legacy will enhance the gameplay and how it will relate to the Star Wars universe.

The relationship between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker as father and son had an incredible impact to the franchise and the developers believe the same thing will happen when playing The Old Republic. Check out the trailer below:

The Old Republic Game Update 1.2 is expected to arrive very soon!

The Lollipop Chainsaw trailer may not be suitable for the workplace due to fowl language, but this is one video that should not be missed. Gamers who are excited for this release, and are looking for a fun unique opportunity to play the game, a bizarro West Coast Customs job was done to a school bus to create a post apocalyptic hell-raising game station. This bus showcased in the video has been seen at SXSW and will be visiting other cities across the nation to bring gamers a taste of Lollipop Chainsaw!

Lollipop Chainsaw releases April 24, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

A second developer diary has been released for The Witcher 2. Players may recall the first developer diary that focused on the adaptation process to the Xbox 360. This new developer’s diary focuses on the enhanced cinematic sequences and the decision making steps to create the intro. It is a very beautiful intro and one could tell great tender loving care took place in the making of this game.

The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition is set to release for the Xbox 360 on April 17, 2012.

Looking to shoot something up. With as many guns in Payne’s arsenal, gamers are going to have a gas when they check out this new trailer for Max Payne 3. Bullets will fly in this newest rendition of Max Payne, and this trailer focuses specifically on SMGs. There was a great trailer on targeting and weapons tech, but this video is more narrowed down, quick, and to the point. This game looks brutal, but with so many guns to choose from, it looks absolutely fun!

Max Payne 3  will release on May 15, 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Johnny Gat is back and better than ever in this new preview for “The Trouble with Clones” DLC for Saints Row: The Third. The new DLC announcement trailer gives a look at what’s in store when a little nerd clones Johnny Gat. This DLC is also part of the Season Pass, which was also the case for the last DLC, “Gangstas in Space.” Check out what kind chaos will ensue this time:

The Saints Row: The Third “Trouble with Clones” DLC is now available!

Ayane vs. Hitomi kick each other’s asses in the newest trailer for Dead or Alive 5. The arena that they play on is highly dangerous with tons of interactive environments to bounce an opponent off of. This fight sequence looks comically silly like any THQ WWE game, but there is something more satisfying about seeing these two kick the crap out of each other.

Dead or Alive 5 releases September 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Next are TWO trailers for SSX! DK mode was a classic with 007: Goldeneye, and now players can experience it on the slopes when they take on big heads and big hands. In this comical trailer, the shredders have quite the difficult time keeping their noggins balanced on their shoulders. Watch the trailer below:

The character Alex Moreau can be seen in this second trailer for SSX catwalking in midair and completely tearing up the mountains. This video definitely makes the game worth checking out and has a lot of fun looking elements to it. (Check out our review for SSX.)

SSX is available now for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

A titillating new teaser for the “The Legend of Dead Kel” DLC for The Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning appeared this week. This new DLC will expand The Kingdoms of Amalur to a whole new level – and will be the first story-driven DLC. We gave the PC version of Reckoning a pretty glowing review, and with this new DLC, we could only expect great things to come!

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is available now for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Here we are, the last trailer! Armored Core V is looking to take center stage as a top contender of online skirmish games. We’ve previously seen great screenshots and a video walkthrough, now a pretty thrilling release trailer set to the tone of epic orchestrated music has come to the Internet this week. There is so much action in this trailer that it would put a Michael Bay film to shame.

Armored Core V is now available for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Phew, take a breath, that was all of them! Now rest your brain for five seconds. Which of these games are you most excited for?
