This Week in Mobile Gaming

This week we climb through a shower of random objects, create our own ski paths, put our dojo learnings to the test, take a stand against the Ghoul Realm, and throw frag grenades at the faces of our enemies.

The Incident iPhone

The Incident: In this clever platformer with a 16-bit retro feel, the goal is to climb up the plethora of falling objects to reach the goal without getting struck by said objects. Collect gems, balloons, and coins for extra points. $1.99 in the app store.

Solipskier iPhone

Solipskier: Draw the mountains as your skier speeds through the grayscale environment. Adjust the elevation to hit the checkpoint gates and tunnels to gain speed, leaving a rainbow trail behind you that's so bright and so vivid. Avoid walls, drops and other obstacles in your path. $2.99 to hit the powder.

Ninjump iPhone

NinJump: As a less "cute" clone of Ninjatown: Trees of Doom!, this similar platformer has you control your ninja to climb as high as possible while avoiding, or defeating, baddies. Snag various power-ups to reach the highest point possible. The other difference to Ninjatown is that this one is FREE.

Ghosts'n Goblins Gold Knight 2

Ghosts'n Goblins: Gold Knights 2: Capcom brings us another mobile game from one of their classic franchises. Continue the battle against the Ghost Realm using Arthur or Perceval, taking on various minions and bosses as you make your descent. $4.99.

Pick of the Week:

Fragger iPhone

Fragger: Aim and shoot, a la Angry Birds, but with grenades vs terrorists. Strategically and successfully launch your grenades in the right locations to clear out your enemies. The levels get more difficult with progression, bringing obstacles and puzzle-like scenarios. Definitely a bang for your buck at 99 cents.

That's another week of mobile recommendations for you, Ranters. Are you playing any of these titles? What game(s) or type of game(s) would you like to see hit the app store?
