The brand-new Netflix original series Wednesday will be making its highly-anticipated arrival on the streaming platform later this year. Leading up to its arrival, Netflix is welcoming fans to the halls of Nevermore Academy to learn more about the notable school where the series will take place.

Scream star Jenna Ortega leads the cast for the upcoming Netflix original series, portraying the twisted teenager who will take center stage in the series' haunting events, Wednesday Addams. The series will follow the titular figure's journey at the prestigious Nevermore Academy, where she will attempt to master her looming psychic abilities while equally working to solve a murder mystery that has veiled connections to her family's past.

Netflix has opened the doors of the emblematic school Wednesday will attend, diving into the institution's history and spotlighting notable characters who will likely cross the teenager's path. "Have you ever been told you're different, odd, or simply don't belong?" asks Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, portraying Nevermore Academy principal Larissa Weems. The recruitment-like questioning leads to an invitation to what Weems calls a "special place" for outcasts.

The vibrant footage showcases the incredible influence of the series' executives producer Tim Burton, who also directed four out of the eight episodes for the upcoming series. Audiences embark on what feels like a student-led tour through the playfully haunting institution, learning about the school's mission to help students master their "unique" abilities and notable alumni, such as members of The Addams Family, who once roamed the halls. The tour concludes with the reveal of a school website where audiences can submit applications to Nevermore Academy. The series is looking to generate excitement as summer closes with the interactive experience, sparking hope that the unknown release date may be closer than expected.

Alongside Ortega, Wednesday will star Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, and Isaac Ordonez as Wednesday's illustrious younger brother Pugsley. The series will also welcome Yellowjackets star Christina Ricci back into The Addams Family universe in a special appearance. Ricci famously portrayed Wednesday Addams in the iconic 1991 Barry Sonnenfeld-directed film The Addams Family. It will be interesting to see the direction Burton takes with the household characters and if the elements that make the beloved grim family unique can shine through in innovative ways.

Wednesday will officially hit Netflix on November 23, 2022.
