Since boldly teasing the game all over its social media a few months ago, WB Montreal has driven the internet into a frenzy as they try to predict if and when a new Batman Arkham game will be revealed by the company. Many have been waiting years for the popular superhero franchise to return after all, with Batman: Arkham Knight dropping all the way back in mid-2015.

However, it seems the studio has some bad news for fans expecting some form of an announcement in the coming days, with WB Montreal taking to Twitter to openly disclose what its current plans are. According to the team of developers, it will be discussing more about WB Montreal as a studio in the near future, with the hopes of conveying to fans who the people behind its games are and why they love working on video games.

The tweet reads "Thank you very much for the enthusiasm for our next project. At this time, our channel will showcase the studio: Who we are and why we love making games!" It follows up its fairly disappointing reveal by urging fans to "stay tuned!" Naturally, many were disappointed that it seems WB Montreal needs a little more time before its willing to discuss exactly what it's working on, especially as the wait for the newest game in the Arkham series has been a fairly significant one.

Following the release of Arkham Knight, leaks and rumors began to swirl claiming that a followup was in the works surrounding Bruce Wayne's son, Damian Wayne, taking up the mantel of Batman, with artwork eventually appearing that practically confirmed the leaks were legitimate. This version of the game was then scrapped, with numerous other rumors about a potential sequel to Arkham Origins taking its place. It seems fans are eager to finally see what WB Montreal has been cooking up all these years, especially with the series having such an intense following online.

However, WB Montreal's newest tweet seems to indicate that the company's hard at work on the next chapter of the franchise, so fans should be patient with the studio as it looks to unveil its newest take on the Batman universe. If leaks are to be believed, it seems likely that the game will feature The Court of Owls as the title's main antagonist, while it seems the story might take place closer to the timeline of Arkham Origins, with some claiming it will act as a soft-reboot for the series.
