Prolific game developer WayForward has revealed via Twitter that it will soon be releasing Marble Knights, an adventure puzzle game, exclusively on Apple Arcade. An exact release date has not yet been announced.

With the help of Orbin, Marabelle, and other Knights of the Round, players of the fantasy-based game will be tasked with protecting King Rolland and his Kingdom of Roundingham from the requisite bad guy, Lord Terroball.

As the description implies, WayForward's Marble Knights is centered around spheres, and up to four players will use orb-based powers along with sword play to take out enemies and solve a variety of puzzles. The game has been rated for ages nine and up, and will be available in multiple languages including English, Arabic, French, German and Japanese.

Apple Arcade is the company’s video game subscription service, much like Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Now, which allows up to six family members to pay a single monthly fee for access to over a hundred games, which can then be played on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Many of the titles are exclusive to Apple, free of ads and in-app purchases, and game progress can be synced seamlessly across devices.

WayForward has been a game developer for 30 years and has an extensive list of over 200 released titles, having created unique franchises such as River City Girls and Shantae, as well as working with established IPs like Adventure Time and Duck Tales. The company considers itself to be one of the largest independent game developers in the industry, and has experience with platforms dating all the way back to the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis.
