The Google Stadia Connect livestream held this morning unveiled major games coming to the streaming platform like Square Enix's Octopath Traveler, but also plenty of unique indie games like the co-op fire fighting simulator Embr. One of the more interesting titles advertised was Funktronic Labs' Wave Break, which appears to be a cartoony blend between the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise and Wave Race 64.

The easiest way to summarize Wave Break is that it looks to be a jet skiing simulator where players can do traditionally skateboarding-centric tricks like grinding on rails. The "Stadia first" game has a similar art style and character designs to Funktronic's 2018 VR game Starbear: Taxi, and will include a story mode, free-roaming arcade mode, and both local and online multiplayer.

Wave Break will also have a shop with customization items and an upgrade system for players to become better at different tricks. According to the description on its official YouTube trailer, the aesthetic is inspired by Miami Vice and includes a "fresh synthwave soundtrack."

Google has a number of exclusive games coming to Stadia in the near future, with some like Orcs Must Die 3 announced before this morning's livestream.

Wave Break will be available on Google Stadia in Summer 2020.
