Watch Dogs: Legion launched last year to mostly positive reviews, serving as the third entry in Ubisoft's hacking-focused open world franchise, Watch Dogs. Ubisoft has continued to support Watch Dogs: Legion since the game's launch through free updates as well as paid DLC. And now Ubisoft is set to launch what seems to be Watch Dogs: Legion's most ambitious DLC yet, Legion of the Dead.
The Legion of the Dead DLC for Watch Dogs: Legion will be adding zombies to the experience. As detailed by IGN, who also released roughly 20 minutes of gameplay footage, Legion of the Dead is a co-op roguelite experience where groups of four have to work together to survive against hordes of the undead. Various abilities and skills pulled from the base Watch Dogs: Legion game will be available to use, which should give players an edge as they're trying to make it out of open world London alive.
Those interested in playing the Watch Dogs: Legion of the Dead DLC should note that it will be available to download very soon. It's currently being tested in the PC version of Watch Dogs: Legion in Alpha, but it will be available to the masses alongside the next big update, coming June 1.
It seems as though this Watch Dogs: Legion zombie DLC was the secret update detailed in the game's post-launch roadmap, and it will be released alongside Tactical Op 2. The Watch Dogs: Legion roadmap has revealed plenty of other content that's coming to the open world game throughout 2021, including free operatives and cross-gen support, though it seems as though the most exciting content will be coming in July and August.
In July, fans of the game can look forward to the Watch Dogs: Legion - Bloodlines expansion. The most notable thing about this expansion is that it is adding Watch Dogs 1 protagonist Aiden Pearce to the game as a playable hero, alongside another playable hero, Wrench. And then in August, Watch Dogs: Legion fans can look forward to new PvP content alongside what appears to be a substantial Assassin's Creed crossover.
Between Watch Dogs: Legion's Assassin's Creed crossover, the Aiden Pearce DLC, and the zombie DLC coming on June 1, it's clear that Ubisoft is working hard to keep players engaged with the game as well as draw in newcomers. Whether or not this strategy pays off remains to be seen, but it seems Watch Dogs: Legion fans are going to have a busy summer, to say the least.
