According to a major leak from Amazon UK, it appears that Watch Dogs 3 will be officially named Watch Dogs Legion. The leak, which is a temporary product listing for the PlayStation 4 version of the game, goes on to describe the game's setting in "post-Brexit London." Key features are also teased, like the ability to play as any individual NPC within the game. The Watch Dogs Legion listing doesn't include a release date, but the game is widely rumored to launch in late 2019.

While London has been often rumored to be the next Watch Dogs setting, the Watch Dogs Legion listing makes clear it's not going to be the London most are familiar with. The listing describes the setting as a "near-future, dystopian version of London," where "society, politics and technology have changed and altered London's fortunes." The "post-Brexit" London is described as ripe for a Watch Dogs sequel due to its well-known reputation for surveillance levels.

Even more interesting than the surprisingly political "post-Brexit dystopia" setting is the core gameplay feature being advertised. Watch Dogs Legion allows players to literally "play as anyone." Every character, every NPC in the open world has "animations, voice over, character traits and visuals" that make playing them a unique experience. Depending on who the player chooses, the game may even progress in unique ways. How this system works is so far unclear. It may be like Driver: San Francisco where the player drops into different people at will, or maybe each possession is more semi-permanent in nature.

The leak comes just a week ahead of Watch Dogs Legion's rumored announcement during E3 2019, said to be either a part of Ubisoft's press conference June 10 or Microsoft's on June 9. The nearness of the game's announcement, which will likely coincide with pre-orders going live, has often resulted in product listings going live on Amazon or other online retailers. The infamous Walmart Canada incident is one such example.

Watch Dogs Legion is yet to be confirmed or officially announced by Ubisoft and as such should be considered a rumor. However, since Amazon UK's leak was noticed, Kotaku is reporting that the details it revealed have reportedly been confirmed via other sources. As such, the Amazon UK listing is deserving of being considered a leak rather than a mistake. There are teeth to this rumor, but nevertheless, it should be approached with some skepticism until Ubisoft makes it official.

Expect confirmation or denial of Watch Dogs Legion by the end of Ubisoft's Monday, June 10 E3 press conference at 1:00 pm PT. But there's always a chance that Ubisoft shares details soon, even within the coming days, now that the news has been broken.

Watch Dogs Legion is rumored to launch in late 2019.
