In a series with so many different gadgets and items that made Watch Dogs what it is, the standard weapons take a little bit of a backseat compared to the usual shooter. However, they're still what gets the job done when the going gets tough, providing the most reliable form of backup and the most natural to the players using them.

In any game, certain weapons stand out from the rest of the pack. Specializing in one important aspect of gameplay or being a great jack of all stats, players need to know what weapons will give them the best protection. After all, there's nothing worse than spending hard-earned currency on a weapon that can barely keep up.

10 10. Zero Day Rifle

LEgion Rifel Gameplay

If players are looking for balance, the Zero Day is the gun to get. It's one of the most powerful silenced weapons around, letting players stay undetected while dealing AK-47-like damage. Shining in the mid-long ranges, the stability will also assist in securing perfect shots most of the time.

The automatic nature of the gun will also make up for its relatively low damage when compared to other rifles, unloading bullets without the long reload interruption most guns in its class are afflicted with.

9 9. MP5

Another work of balance that ups the ante, delivering more damage and with a higher rate of fire. The MP5 can fire at a very high rate, filling groups of enemies with bullets before they get a chance to fire back.

The draw time is rather slow, meaning knowing the enemy is coming will be a big advantage because once it's drawn, the MP5 has good performance across the board.

8 8. Air Shotgun

Legion A SHotgun Gameplay

Though it's a nonlethal weapon, it also happens to be some of the most fun in the entire game. With infinite ammo and no reloads, the Air Shotgun will be blasting objects and stunning NPCs until the character's finger is off the trigger.

Completely designed for close range as with any other shotgun, it's very quiet rounds will keep the player undercover until an errant object goes whizzing past the enemy. It can also down heavily armored targets consistently, saving some time trying to incapacitate the big boys.

7 7. DOT_FILE Rifle

Gameplay things Legion

High damage and range are always a good place to start, with none of its stats falling below the mid-range. The DOT_FILE's main selling point isn't its impressive stats though but the smart bullets that it fires.

Firing bullets that automatically hack the target, players will be sucking cash and BOT resources out of their accounts before the enemy even hits the floor. Its burst fire is always an appreciated asset, grouping high damage hits so players don't have to worry about finishing the job.

6 6. D50 Handgun

handgun gameplay legion

This is the gun eagle-eyed players will want if they feel the need to show off. It's modeled after a Desert Eagle and delivers heavy damage upon impact. It will only take 1 or 2 shots to put down the targets, saving bullets from the only 8 bullet clip.

Contrary to most shooting games, this gun is best fired at the legs of enemies to incapacitate them quickly. Its high rate of fire will be tempting to use but quality over quantity of shots is a good rule for this hand cannon.

5 5. Goodbye, World Shotgun

shotgun gameplay legion

A fully automatic shotgun with some of the most impressive power in the series, even it's ammunition is designed to spread out the damage as much as possible. Containing extra buckshot in every round, close-quarters tend to be an absolute nightmare for those on the other end of the barrel.

Close range is where players will want to stay though, dramatically decreasing its effectiveness at any farther, its low stability will make for a lot of wasted bullets. The 12 rounds and automatic firing should be enough to get any competent player through the red zone.

4 4. Destroyer

Scope Gunfight in Legion

Fully living up to its name, the Destroyer is able to take out near anything it comes across. This includes shooting through thick walls in order to reach its target, it only takes one bullet to take out even the most menacing enforcers.

With only 2 bullets in the weapon, use them wisely. It works especially well if players want to get rid of Police Helicopters, again taking only one bullet to send them flying away. That goes for any vehicle, one shot and disabling the machine is taken care of.

3 3. GL94

Watchdogs : legion bomber

The rare shotgun that comes with high stability, this beast fires out thermobaric grenades.  It's no surprise it takes a while to fire each round, with its extremely high damage and accuracy make for one of the most destructive forces in the series.

Truly exciting for players who are used to all the high power weapons being a little shaky when it comes to aim, it can take down multiple enemies in a short amount of time. Useful for taking over when the going gets rough, its reload speed is surprisingly high as a bonus.

2 2. Spec Ops Goblin

Legion Goblin Gameplay Sights

The star of the stealth mission, the Spec Ops Goblin's quiet nature and high fire rate will make quick work in stealth intensive situations. Delivering a high rate of fire at the same time also puts down groups if the player's feeling impatient.

Its burst fire is so quiet that those with aim good enough to fire from a distance will notice enemies that still aren't alerted even after taking multiple shots to the body. The 30 round clip will be enough to take out even the most stubborn foe.

1 1. YourBoySerge Sniper

watchdogs legion weapon profile

A gun with the highest damage and range in the title, one so broken that the ammo capacity was reduced from 6 to 1. Meaning players only have one shot to hit their mark but if they do, it's over. Similar to the Destroyer with a little beefier stats, the rifle's smart scope has a built-in auto assist to keep even the most uncoordinated on target.

Helicopters, Cement Trucks, it doesn't matter when it comes to this sniper, taking out everything in 1 hit no matter where the bullet hits. This becomes even more dangerous once the Keen Eye skill is used, totally destroying anything it passes through.
