Watch Dogs 2 is a sequel that improved upon the first game in nearly every way. Aiden Pearce was an empty shell of a protagonist stuck in a drab and lifeless game that was tonally at odds with the wild fun of hacking and shooting foes. This is a major reason why the first game was such a controversial title, arguably kickstarting the hate train against Ubisoft that is still going strong to this day.

Compared to this, the second game felt like a breath of fresh air. The game felt more light-hearted without losing sight of the bigger picture, and it helped that the main character wasn't totally insufferable either. The entire world also felt more reactive to the player, with cop chases in particular being quite intense. If players are struggling to escape the police while playing Watch Dogs 2, here are a few tips.

6 Behave In Front Of The Police

Perhaps the most obvious tip that players should keep in mind if they're having troubles with police chases is to simply not trigger them at all. Marcus can easily stay on his best behavior by holstering all firearms and not causing too much of a ruckus when on foot or driving.

Committing a felony in front of the cops instantly triggers a chase, which can prove to be quite annoying. Staying in a chase for too long increases the heat level, so players should focus on outrunning their pursuers and hiding as soon as possible.

5 Prevent 911 Calls From Going Through

Sometimes, crimes that happen out of a policeman's view can still be reported by NPCs. This can prove to be quite a hindrance for players who don't have the hack ability, which they can use to can stop these calls from afar.

Until then, players will have to threaten NPCs and take down their phones by closing the distance, which should become a player's utmost priority. In a firefight, the addition of cops will serve to only make things harder and more annoying.

4 Don't Make A Bad Situation Worse

Heat Levels govern how much strength the police force will send behind Marcus if he commits a crime. So, even when players end up becoming wanted, it's still relatively smooth sailing as long as they don't let their Heat Level go overboard.

With this in mind, it's important to just run away instead of engaging the police in any sort of shootout when players are wanted. Failing to adhere to this golden rule will slowly lead to the player being overwhelmed by the police, who will leave no stone unturned in their hunt.

3 Use Hacks Instead Of Bullets During Chase Sequences

When trying to outrun cops, most players might be enticed to perform a simple drive-by to send the police into a panic. However, not only do these bullets not have as much of an impact as one might expect, but it only serves to infuriate the police force even more. If players use bullets, police will send even more boys in blue after a solitary hacker with incredible resilience.

During this time, players are better off using hacks to disrupt chases instead. Messing around with traffic lights and blockades do a great job of stopping the police in their tracks and slowing them down long enough to get out of their sight and find some time to hide.

2 Use A Good Car To Quickly Escape The Cops

Speed is paramount to success when it comes to a chase sequence. Players who end up not giving it their all during these chases will find the police hounding them every step of the way, which can get annoying very quickly.

Instead of trying to escape on a vehicle that is incredibly slow, players are better off using something faster or more mobile. A quick sports car does wonders when it comes to leaving the police behind, while a bike is more maneuverable and can cut through corners where a police cruiser will get stranded.

1 Find A Good Hiding Spot After Evading The Police

Just getting away from the police isn't enough to make them stop chasing Marcus. Players need to find a good hiding spot where they can wait for things to cool down while cops survey the area and try to find the offender who'd been causing them so much trouble.

Getting spotted while trying to hide will reinitiate the chase sequence, which is obviously the last thing that players would want to deal with. So, instead of meandering about and hoping that no cops will stand in their way, players should ideally find a quiet alley or corner and wait with bated breath until the cops finally get off their tail for good.
