Sniper battles either drag on or end quickly in Call of Duty: Warzone. Almost every Warzone fan has been on one end of a sniper rifle's deadly scope, be it either dodging incoming fire or taking long range pot shots. Occasionally though, two snipers happen to meet and the ensuing battle becomes a test of speed, skill, and timing.
Sniper duels occur frequently in Warzone with two snipers firing and missing multiple times. Sometimes they end in a down on either side, but most of the time one of the two snipers simply gives up. There is a rare third option, and while unusual, it ended this unfortunate competition.
In a video posted by Inconspicuous-turtle, two players battle it out in a long range battle of accuracy. When Turtle misses their first shot, they immediately give up their position, causing the target to pull out a rifle of their own. Lining up a second shot, the player hears the ding of armor plates breaking as the shot connects but does not down the intended target. Then they get hit, but in a similar fashion, it simply breaks some armor. Finally the scope drifts towards the target with one more shot in mind, but as a soon as the trigger is pulled they die immediately. In a cruel twist of fate, the target also gets impacted with a headshot, sending both of these players directly to the Gulag.
The targeted player probably shouldn't have stood their ground. Despite having a Kar98 and fighting against a fully equipped HDR sniper, they were out in the open and on the low ground. With no cover or space to defend, the odds were higher that Turtle would simply hit the target and move on.
Meanwhile, fans in the comments point out that other than the leaves being in the way, there was no reason for Turtle to have lost that fight. After both players died they did encounter each other in the Gulag. Turtle reports that in the close combat situation of the prison, he did not win the battle.
Still, the clip makes for a beautiful trade between two Warzone fans. As the third option in a Sniper duel, these players should feel lucky that they got to witness a rather rare occurence. As this clip continues to gain traction on Reddit, more fans will get to witness this perfect moment of skill and karma.
