Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 is inevitable, but details on what it will entail are hard to come by. However, a Call of Duty League team may have let the cat out of the bag early, potentially revealing the Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 release date.

Call of Duty League team Minnesota ROKKR tweeted out about a $100,000 Warzone tournament starting September 29 that will "celebrate the start of Call of Duty Season 6." This seems to indicate that the Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 release date is Tuesday, September 29, and so fans of the franchise may very well want to mark that date on their calendars.

However, it's worth pointing out that previous Call of Duty seasons have actually started on Wednesdays instead of Tuesdays. With that in mind, it's possible that the real release date is Wednesday, September 30. Fans can expect more clarification from Activision and Infinity Ward near the end of September, but it's a safe bet that if September 29 isn't the actual Warzone release date, it will still kick off around that time.

There haven't been many Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 leaks so far, with the exception of one big battle royale map change. Leakers have pointed to subway stations being added to the Warzone map as part of Season 6, which could potentially shake things up quite a bit. If players are able to travel across the battle royale map by going underground, it could create brand new strategic opportunities for players that weren't possible before. And if the subway trains are active, it would give players new means for traveling across Verdansk.

Besides changes to the battle royale map, Warzone Season 6 may also bring with it a new assault rifle. The AS VAL assault rifle has leaked online with unfinished textures, which typically means that the gun will be added to Warzone proper sooner rather than later. New Call of Duty seasons have included at least two new weapons to kick things off, so there's likely another weapon waiting to be added to the experience as well that just hasn't leaked yet.

Of course, Warzone Season 6 will also mean the start of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 6 as well. Modern Warfare Season 6 is expected to introduce new game modes, multiplayer maps, and much more to the Call of Duty experience. It remains to be seen if new Modern Warfare seasonal content will continue once Black Ops Cold War hits shelves on November 13, but fans of the franchise should stay tuned for more information.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
