A Call of Duty: Warzone dataminer claims that the Alcatraz map from Black Ops 4 may be appearing in Warzone as a playable option. Several interesting images were shared from this datamine, which has led to a discussion amongst the leaker community.

Leaks for new maps, operators, and abilities are not uncommon for the Call of Duty community. Some leaks have been proven correct months after making the rounds online, so every leak has the possibility of being true. It should be noted, however, that this datamine leak is based on files found within the game itself, and sometimes that could just be leftover remnants from a separate event.

This leak comes from dataminer Nanikos, who found images hidden among the Warzone game files that show several strange things, but the one that stands out is a list of names that match points of interest on the Alcatraz map. The list includes fan-favorite locations such as Cell House, Parade Grounds and Warden's House. Another dataminer commented on the leak, pointing out that the files were added to the game recently, indicating that these files may be more than just leftovers.

Alcatraz is a much smaller map then Verdansk or Blackouts' core map making it work for a smaller level of battle royale operations. With rumors circulating that zombies may be headed to Warzone, Alcatraz could make for an interesting way to debut a more zombie-focused game mode. Its small scale and isolated location makes for a good potential launch site for players to enter into a zombie battleground.

Previous leaks regarding zombies suggested they would arrive in Warzone during Season 6. Although there has been no developer confirmation, the new leaks for Alcatraz could suggest that plans are in the works. Season 6 is still full of many unknowns, making it potentially work to add zombies, new maps, or surprise information.

Neither Infinity Ward nor Activision has announced any plans about adding new maps or even zombies to the game; all rumors circulating about this come from leakers and datamined information. What fans do know is that Warzone is due for some changes with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War nearing its full release. With no official information as to what changes will be made, fans are left to wonder how the developers will improve the battle royale.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
