The new Call of Duty: Warzone map Caldera got off to quite a rocky start, as players have reported issues with many different aspects of the new map. This prompted Call of Duty Creative Director Ted Timmins to respond to Call of Duty: Warzone fans via Twitter.

The issue that Timmins responded to regards the performance of Call of Duty: Warzone on consoles. Fans who play the game on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X have reported that they no longer achieve 120 FPS when playing on the new Caldera map. This is quite a serious issue, especially when one considers how intense some Call of Duty: Warzone firefights can get, as a few frames can mean the difference between life or death.

Timmins responded to a fan's Tweet that regarded the console performance issues and stated that he too plays on console and is also currently being affected. He went on to say that he has made sure that the team has been made aware of the issue and thanked fans for their feedback and understanding. Unfortunately, performance issues are not the only problem with Call of Duty: Warzone right now, as the Pacific update has brought with it a multitude of different glitches.

The glitches currently plaguing the game relate to graphics, with players reporting texture pop-in in the world and with their weapons. Another more concerning bug that is affecting Call of Duty: Warzone players is one that is causing their characters to die before they even spawn. Players have found ways of working around the glitch but this should not have to be the case.

Pro Call of Duty player Aydan Conrad and Dr Disrespect have also both stated that they found Caldera to be outright boring. This is not good for Call of Duty: Warzone, as many fans of the game regularly tune in to streamers who also play the game and hold their sentiments in high esteem. Dr Disrespect went as far as to state that he may even uninstall Call of Duty: Warzone, although this is unlikely as the Doc has threatened to do so on multiple occasions and has never followed through.

It seems as though Call of Duty: Warzone will need some serious polish before its rumored mobile port. This may seem like quite a difficult task but Raven Software should be able to follow through, as it has frequently updated and patched the previous maps in the game. A mobile port also may just end up being what the franchise needs to excite the player base once more.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
