In Warhammer Vermintide 2, players will want to start knocking out collectibles as soon as possible. Collecting these rewards has the immediate benefit of upgrading the prize's quality at the end of the match. If players find all of them, they get a huge boost.
Even with the prize aside, players won't be able to say they've fully completed a level without every tome and grimoire collected. Some books can be found by curious minds but others require an awful lot of experimentation to unlock. Thankfully, the Warhammer Vermintide 2 community has done the legwork, showing collectors where each piece is in Halescourge.
Before attempting this, be sure to use a character with a ranged weapon or have an ally with a ranged weapon as it is required to get access to one of the grimoires.
Tome #1
After descending some stairs, players will enter 'von Mackensen Strasse.' Drop down to the left of the stone bridge and look forward to find a hole in the wall obscured by a large crate in front of it. Go around the crate and through the hole.
Inside a tilted wooden box, pick up the first tome. Solo players can use bots to pick up these items for them if they'd like.
Tome #2
Players will enter the 'Merchant District' while inside a ruined building. Continue until arriving at a green banner with red skulls on it. Instead of going right and across the bridge, go left. At the end of this pathway is a canal with a boat.
That boat just so happens to have the second tome in it. Use the ladder to reach it. The game can be long enough as it is, but missing these grimoires is passing up on easy loot, be sure to get them.
Grimoire #1
There will be an incredible moment as the enemies tilt a house horizontally over the side of a cliff. Instead of walking over the house, look left and use the rooftops to go down to a makeshift ledge. Look right and spot a large bookshelf inside a room.
The normal doorway is too thin to get through, but players can hop over the edge and into a hole on the side. The grimoire is resting in the bookcase. If the tide of enemies gets too strong, equip some gear with the best traits to cut them down.
Tome #3
The main road goes by a tower. Careful eyes may spot a door in the base of that tower. Go inside, up the ladder, and find the last of the three tomes on a shelf at the top.
Using a superior career class can make this entire process much easier.
Grimoire #2
Down a narrow alleyway immediately after arriving at 'Stoltzhammer Weg,' there is a ladder just out of reach of the player. If it's too tough to spot, simply look up when looking at the statue to find it. It's lodged in place with yellow growth.
Shoot this growth and it will release the ladder. Climb up top and snag the final book in this area. Getting all the tomes and grimoires on legendary of higher difficulty will give players the best odds of acquiring red veteran loot boxes.
