Warframe is a looter shooter, and thus has plenty of resources to farm. These range from the fantastical, like ancient artifacts and futuristic alloys, to the mundane, like Warframe's fish oil.

Not all of Warframe's resources are available all the time. Some are only available in certain areas, like thermal sludge on Orb Vallis, or are only available during timed events, like omega isotopes.

The When and Why of Omega Isotopes

Omega isotopes are part of the repeating Fomorian Sabotage events. During these events, the Grineer plan to send a Balor Fomorian battleship to one of the universe's relays, and players have to sabotage it before it reaches its destination.

The mission requires a Fomorian Disruptor. The blueprints for one appear in every player's inbox at the start of the event. The blueprints can also be bought at any time in the market for 5000 credits.

A player can craft one with 1250 credits, 3500 nano spores, 300 cryotic, and 4 omega isotopes. The nano spores and cryotic are easy to find. Nano spores are available on Deimos, Eris, Neptune, and Saturn. Cryotic is available in excavation missions on Earth, Europa, and Pluto. Omega isotopes, however, are a bit more variable.

Where to Find the Omega Isotopes

Omega isotopes are not restricted to only one place, but they move around with the event. They are only collectible on the planet the Balor Fomorian is floating above, and it changes each time the event occurs. Players can find out which planet it's on via the alerts menu on the top right of the map screen.

The good news is that omega isotopes will spawn on any non-archwing mission on the map. They drop from killed enemies and opened crates, so an efficient way to farm them are Warframe's defense and survival missions, but any mission will do. Players shouldn't be hesitant to pick their favorites.

Tips for Speeding Up the Process

The most obvious way to speed up the hunt for omega isotopes is to use a resource booster. Unfortunately, unless a player gets it from the login bonus, resource boosters cost platinum, Warframe's real money currency.

There are some free ways for a player to up their chances. They can equip the mod "Thief's Wit" to locate chests on the mini-map. They can bring along a sentinel or kubrow, equipped with mods to vacuum surrounding resources. Lastly, they can play in public mode, or with clan members. Drop rates increase with every player are on the field.

Warframe is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
