Since it first launched in 2013, the free-to-play shooter Warframe has steadily expanded the number of platforms it’s available on, and that’s not stopping anytime soon. Not only is Warframe getting PS5 and Xbox Series X ports, it now looks like it may be getting a mobile version as well.

Leyou Technologies Holdings Limited, the parent company of Warframe developer Digital Extremes, recently released its latest annual report. Much of the 210-page report details how the game has fared in the past year and what the plans are for its future, and a statement from Leyou chairman Xu Yiran suggests that a mobile version is being considered.

“I have spoken publicly on occasions about the Group’s strategy of transforming successful PC or console games into mobile version,” the statement reads. Yiran goes on, stating that while Leyou Technologies' and Digital Extreme's focus remains on PC and console games, it still intends to find ways to “integrate the proven successful products” towards tapping into the vast revenue potential the massive mobile gaming market offers.

That’s not necessarily a confirmation that a mobile version of Warframe is in the works, but it seems that Leyou and Digital Extremes are definitely considering it. With the success other popular free-to-play games like Fortnite and PUBG have found on mobile, it makes sense that they would look into it. Whether a mobile port ends up happening, though, only time will tell.

Warframe is available on PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X ports in development.
