Not too long ago, developer Digital Extremes introduced the upcoming New War story expansion for its popular free-to-play co-op action RPG, Warframe, but for those wanting to enjoy some new content sooner, the developer has now launched the summer Dog Days beach event. It will run through August 12 at 11 AM ET. This event, alongside offering new rewards, sees players drop in a beach arena equipped with an "ultra-powered Soaktron" water gun to face off with other players.

Each win in the beach arena will reward players instantly, and each match will see players entered into a new sweepstakes. To make the new PvP mode simple, the beach arena disables mods, pets, and abilities, so players must face off with skill alone. The Soaktrons must be refilled with water as well, meaning Warframe players will want to learn the location of each water fountain quickly.

There are 4 in-game rewards tied to this event, as well as a special currency that can be traded on Cetus for more rewards. Here are the four tiers of rewards: 1.) 50,000 credits and the Redeemer Abysso Skin, 2.) 50,000 credits and Hydroid's Relay Scene, 3.) 50,000 credits and the Hydroid Reprise Noggle, and 4.) Orokin Reactor and Stratos Emblem. Alongside all of this, Warframe players will also receive a double credit booster, and those who already have one will see both stack, giving up to a 4X credit bonus.

Furthermore, every beach arena match completed prior to August 6 will give players another entry into the aforementioned Real Space Ninja sweepstakes up to a maximum of 2 entries per day. The winner will earn $250,000 toward a trip to space, so it'll be interesting to learn who wins this Warframe contest. Of course, playing at least two matches per day prior to August 6 will give players the best possible chance at winning Digital Extremes' "Real Space Ninja" contest.

After this event, Warframe players still have the New War expansion to look forward to releasing in Christmas 2019, which as its name implies, may re-enact parts of the Old War with the Sentient seemingly returning to their conquest of the galaxy. Hopefully, the New War will have the same positive reaction that the Dog Days event has thus far.

Warframe is currently available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
