Warframe is a game that mixes third-person action-adventure shooter action with an MMO environment, with smooth gameplay but complicated currency systems that give players lots to do. While players can choose to focus on whatever aspects of the game they like, inevitably they will want to gain Mastery Rank by using Warframes, weapons, Archwings, and more. For all there is to do in this game, players need to be well-equipped with a great primary, secondary, and melee weapon as part of their loadout.

Warframe's best secondaries are advised for the player to obtain. Having a good loadout is important, especially as players progress through the Star Chart and unlock higher game modes. While technically the Tenno can take any weapons provided they've modded it and used Forma/ Orokin Catalysts, not all secondary weapons are created equally, with some having much better base stats than others. Warframe has great PvE multiplayer with an unmatched list of impressive, enjoyable weapons to use.

6 Epitaph

A preview of the Warframe Secondary weapon Epitaph

The Epitaph is a wrist-mounted Pistol weapon that fires explosive slabs that have a guaranteed Cold proc. While uncharged shots mainly deal Status Chance damage, charged shots will give Critical Chance and Critical Multiplier with Punch Through. Warframe is one of the best PC shooting games so players can expect some satisfying gameplay with the pistols.

The signature weapon of the Servagoth Warframe, the Epitaph is a brilliant Pistol sidearm that players can take with them for the majority of missions with it holding up. Players can acquire this by completing Void Storm missions in either Earth Proxima, Venus Proxima, or Saturn Proxima and can be traded.

5 Pyrana Prime

The Pyrana Prime is a sidearm Shotgun that has higher critical stats and a longer range before damage falloff occurs. As one of the best secondaries in Warframe, players will be disappointed to learn that it is currently Vaulted. However, Digital Extremes are known for unvaulting and vaulting different sets as time goes on, so players will be able to obtain this Prime weapon when it is next unvaulted.

The Pyrana Prime fires with built-in multishot and while its total damage is lower than the non-Prime variant, it makes up for this by having an ethereal Pyrana that appears beside it after the player kills three enemies in quick succession. The weapon is one of Warframe's best shotguns.

4 Tenet Cycron

The Tenet Cycron is one of Warframe's late-game weapons for a reason: it has impressive critical and status chance, and its beamed attacks can chain with multiple enemies making it ideal for crowd control as well as having high DPS. The Tenet version of the original Cycron pistol, this version is much stronger and is truly one of the game's best secondaries and one of Warframe's best Tenet weapons.

Players can obtain the Tenet Cycron by killing a Sister that was generated with one. They can also indirectly be tradeable, with players trading a Sister that the recipient can then kill to claim the weapon from.

3 Sporelacer

Players as various Warframes

The Sporelacer can be used either as a player's Primary or Secondary weapon, being a Kitgun that players can customize based on how they want to use a certain weapon. When used as a Secondary, the Sporelacer fires a single shot that splits into three different smaller bombs. Matching the Sporelacer with one of Warframe's must-use mods is a great way of improving its effectiveness.

Players can obtain the weapon by buying it from Father for 500 Standing after joining the Entrati Neutral syndicate. It's surprising how easy the weapon is to obtain considering how powerful it is.

2 Laetum

The Laetum is a pistol that has been evolved by the Void (Incarnon) and shoots explosive airburst rounds. A highly effective weapon, players should look to get the Laetum as soon as they are able, but keep in mind that it is a late-game pistol that will take for players if they have not progressed in Warframe much.

The Laetum can be acquired by purchasing it for 3000 Holdfasts standing from Cavalero. Alternatively, players can obtain it from other players who possess the Blueprint. Matching this pistol with one of Warframe's best sniper rifles can lead to a fun loadout.

1 Kuva Nukor

The Kuva Nukor secondary weapon on Warframe

The Kuva Nukor is a Kuva variant of the original Nukor pistol Secondary weapon. The best Secondary weapon available in Warframe, this weapon is one that any player should look to obtain as quickly as possible. It has an extremely high critical multiplier, status, and critical chance, as well as a great magazine and range size. Players can expect to spend a lot of time playing through Kuva-related Warframe content, as it is a great way to earn Platinum.

The Kuva Nukor can be obtained by killing a Kuva Lich who generated with one equipped. Alternatively, players can trade the Kuva Lich that has a Kuva Nukor generated to other players, so that may be an option if the player is involved with Warframe communities and can ask for help.

Warframe was released in 2013 and is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
