Warframe has no shortage of interesting characters. Even the premise itself is peculiar; ninjas in space would have been enough as a selling point, but the game's creators went above and beyond and kept expanding its in-game universe with a diverse and memorable cast of good and bad personalities.

Some of them are villains, of course, while others are dear allies and companions. The best characters in Waframe offer not just a seamless integration into gameplay but also an entertaining and often unforgettable interaction with the players. These Warframe characters will definitely make intergalactic mass murder a lot more fun and less tedious.

10 Cephalon Simaris

cephalon-simaris-in-warframe-(1)-1
  • Affiliation: Sanctuary Syndicate
  • Relationship with the players: Friendly (with no regard for personal space)

In terms of gameplay benefits, Cephalon Simaris is a godsend. He's the proprietor and creator of the Simulacrum, a place where the Tenno can test out their warframe and weapon configurations using simulations of enemies that they captured at Simaris' behest.

But to get there, players will need to get past Simaris himself, who welcomes the players at any chance he gets with the AI equivalent of a bear hug followed by a face-licking. Simaris will float down to the player's face at point-blank range with little to no regard for boundaries. He's also quite creepy seeing as he prefers to keep samples of living organisms in his AI museum under the pretense of encyclopedic ventures.

9 Stalker

Stalker in warframe (1)
  • Affiliation: Mercenary
  • Relationship with the players: Hostile (usually)

What if there was an "evil" waframe? That question was answered and explored long ago by the game's developers through the Stalker. He's the edgy and screechy back sheep of the warframe roster and he does his own thing. But he usually works for Grineer, Corpus, and Infested bosses as some kind of avenger assassin.

He doesn't really talk much and usually relays his threats through raspy murmurs and flickering lights; the guy loves his theatrics, but this does give him an undeniable villainous and horror charm compared to most other enemies. His existence alone as a rogue warframe makes him a memorable figure.

8 Alad V

Alad V in warframe
  • Affiliation: Corpus
  • Relationship with the players: Hostile / Neutral

Alad V is one of the earliest bosses that players will need to deal with. He's a direct threat to the warframes since his hobby involves capturing them and then peeling them up to see what they're made of. To that end, he's an even bigger creep than Cephalon Simaris.

But nevertheless, this makes Alad V quite a compelling character. The way he talks, his comedic timing, and invasive obsession with the Tenno and their warframes essentially turn him into a likable villain. Still, players won't feel any guilt for brutalizing him on Jupiter.

7 Nef Anyo

  • Affiliation: Corpus
  • Relationship with the players: Hostile / Neutral

There's no bigger opportunist and businessman than Nef Anyo in Warframe. The Corpus faction symbolizes corporate greed the most and Nef Anyo is the poster boy for his faction's ideals. Thus, Nef Anyo is devoid of morals and only cares about profits and more opportunities to increase them.

He's the one responsible for the sorry state of the cyborgs in Fortuna, who were forced to sell their organic limbs and body parts to pay off their crippling and exploitative debts to Nef Anyo. Thankfully, players get many chances to fight and disrupt Nef Anyo's oppressive operations.

6 Vay Hek

  • Affiliation: Grineer
  • Relationship with the players: Hostile (needs to lower his blood pressure)

Sure enough, there are also some Grineer villains here who have made the cut as interesting characters. Vay Hek completely tramples Captain Vor in terms of competence and charisma (if one can call it that). Vay Hek is a typical neurotic boss who cannot speak a single word without roaring his throat out.

But in his defense, one would be irredeemably neurotic if the only organic part of their body left was their face. In any case, boss fights and email interactions with Vay Hek are always amusing thanks in part to his voice actor. It wouldn't be hard not to imagine Vay Hek making his email video threats with a Grineer assistant flickering the lights to make their boss look more intimidating.

5 Nora Night

  • Affiliation: Tenno
  • Relationship with the players: Friendly

Not much is known about Nora Night save for bits and pieces of childhood stories, but the mystery behind her didn't impede her personality one bit. Because as far as faceless and shady characters go, Nora is teeming with intrigue and charisma. That's likely a given since she's an intergalactic radio station DJ.

Even with how little is known about Nora, players can still feel a sense of familiarity with her, especially with how she aligns herself with the Tenno's cause and justice. And of course, her upbeat and cheeky voice is enough to win any listener's attention.

4 Cephalon Ordis

ordis in warframe (1)
  • Affiliation: Tenno / Cephalon
  • Relationship with the players: Friendly (invasive, even)

Cephalon Ordis is the robot conscience or inner voice that the players never thought they needed or wanted. Well, many players still prefer to shut off Ordis after spending too much time with him in the Liset, but one has to admit that it gets lonely without him.

Because Ordis has been with the players from the very start. Besides, he's quirky and cheerful enough to keep the Liset lively, even when he's malfunctioning back into his murderous AI self from the days of his previous employers. It's even more impressive considering how he's mostly just a robot voice.

3 The Lotus

The Lotus in warframe (1)
  • Affiliation: Tenno / Cephalon
  • Relationship with the players: ?

Like Ordis, the Lotus has been with the players from the start of the game and she even helped the Tenno get back up on their feet after a disastrous past. But her motivations and true nature were never made clear, only that she was there to help.

Some of the later, high-level quests in the game did shed some light on this and even revealed some of the Lotus' biggest secrets. She's no doubt an interesting character with no shortage of surprises, even if some of those surprises weren't pleasant.

2 Mother

mother in warframe (1)
  • Affiliation: Entrati
  • Relationship with the players: Friendly

There would be a point in the game when the Lotus would disappear and such an event was a huge blow to the morale of the players. It's like something was missing in their Liset ship. For a long time, they yearned for the Lotus's guidance as a child craved their mother's warm embrace. And that's when Mother from the Entrati won the player's hearts.

In The Lotus's absence, Mother, which is a ten-foot-tall inexplicable mass of alien flesh boil with a human shape sprouting out of the ooze hole, somewhat filled in for the Lotus' role in the memes. Thus for a time, the community calmed down.

1 Baro Ki'Teer

Baro Ki'Teer in warframe
  • Affiliation: Tenno
  • Relationship with the players: Friendly

Then again, who needs a space mom when one has a premium swag merchant selling them the golden superweapons he collected from a space trash heap? That's what Baro Ki'Teer is all about. He's responsible for making the players into proud and shiny space ninjas with his exclusive and limited contraband which he only sells twice per month.

As such, anticipating Baro every other week has become the norm and tradition in the Warframe solar system. He is rather critical of Tenno with no swag, no drip, and wack setups (no Prime items), but that should be enough encouragement for players to obtain Prime weapons and warframes. Eventually, the players can proudly say they're "Baro approved."
