Marvel Studios' WandaVision launches the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Kevin Feige confirming the series will be directly tied to future MCU films. As such, fans are curious to see if Scarlet Witch might join the already expansive cast of Tom Holland's Spider-Man 3 and Elizabeth Olsen recently addressed the subject.

Premiering in mid-January, Marvel Studios' WandaVision finds Olsen's Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany's Vision living a happily married life in what appears to be an alternate reality that emulates classic American sitcoms. While WandaVision has yet to provide an explanation for how both heroes found themselves in this altered reality or Vision's sudden return from the dead, Feige has already confirmed the end of the Disney Plus series will set up the events of Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in which Olsen will reprise her role as Scarlet Witch.

Before Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange returns for the Doctor Strange sequel, the future Sorcerer Supreme will appear in Marvel Studios and Sony's untitled third Spider-Man film as a mentor to Peter Parker. Considering Scarlet Witch's soon-to-be close ties to Doctor Strange, Olsen was asked if she might also join Cumberbatch in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3 during an interview with Capital FM. Olsen, who seemed surprised to hear how many actors were already slated to appear in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3, simply noted that she's unsure if Scarlet Witch is involved in the film at this time. "I assume you might [see Wanda in Spider-Man 3] if everyone's in it, but I haven't shown up to that party quite yet, I don't think," she said.

WandaVision

The inclusion of Doctor Strange in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3 and its connection to WandaVision is expected to explain how the film will feature Alfred Molina as Doc Ock and Jamie Foxx as Electro. Both actors previously portrayed the same villains in separate Spider-Man franchises before Marvel Studios and Sony reached a landmark agreement to reboot the film series and co-produce new Spider-Man movies. Production on Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3 is currently underway in Atlanta, Georgia, with set photos suggesting the film will be set during the holiday season.

Marvel Studios' plans to incorporate the multiverse into Phase 4 and the return of the aforementioned Spider-Man villains has led to speculation Tom Holland won't be the only web-slinger in the MCU. Rumors of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returning as their respective versions of the character in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3 persist despite Sony noting such speculation has not been confirmed.

While Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch will evidently play a significant role in Marvel Studios' Phase 4 projects, Vision's future with the franchise is less certain. Nonetheless, Bettany has expressed that he would love to return to the role down the line.

WandaVision is now available on Disney Plus.
