It's been nearly two years since the PlayStation 5 console first launched, and it's still incredibly difficult to find. A variety of factors have made it next to impossible for consumers to get their hands on a PS5 console without paying ridiculous scalper prices, but all potential owners can do is keep trying whenever a restock is announced. One retailer that has consistently had PS5 restocks is Walmart, and now it's confirmed when exactly the next PS5 restock will be.

Walmart's next PS5 restock will take place on June 2 at 12pm PT. This will be an online-only restock, and it will be exclusive to Walmart+ members. Anyone that's interested in trying their hand at getting a PS5 console through this restock will want to prepare by making sure they are a paid Walmart+ member, as those using a free trial will not be allowed to participate in the restock.

For the uninitiated, the Walmart+ subscription costs $98 per year, and for those who shop at Walmart regularly, it may very well be worth the asking price. It gives subscribers exclusive deals, first dibs on next-gen console restocks, gas discounts, free shipping, and free grocery delivery from one's local Walmart store. Of course, those who are uninterested in staying signed up for Walmart+ for the long-term can always go with the $12.95 monthly option instead and cancel after the restock is over.

The Walmart+ PS5 restock is expected to include both the standard PS5 and Digital Edition consoles. For those that may not know the difference, the standard PS5 console retails for $499.99, and it includes a disc drive. The PS5 Digital Edition console is $399.99, making it $100 cheaper, but it lacks a disc drive. Otherwise, the two consoles are exactly the same in terms of power and graphical capabilities.

Unfortunately, there's really no end in sight when it comes to the PS5 supply shortages, so those that still have yet to get a PS5 console will just have to keep trying their hand at these restocks. Previously, it was hoped that the PS5 supply issues would be resolved by the end of 2022, but it's now looking like it may be 2023 or even 2024 before the console is readily available on store shelves.

The good news is that many of the big PlayStation games are still available for PS4 as well as PS5, so those who have been unable to upgrade aren't being left out. For example, the upcoming God of War Ragnarok is a cross-gen game, and so PS4 owners don't have to stress too much about their inability to find a PS5.
