Walmart reveals its Black Friday 2016 ad, which includes significant discounts for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, controllers, headsets and video games.
For holiday shoppers, nothing beats the excitement of Black Friday. Each year, one of the most popular Black Friday ads is Walmart's, as the retail juggernaut often offers some of the deepest discounts available for all of its products, including video games. The Walmart Black Friday 2016 ad is now available online, revealing low prices for some of the year's hottest games, as well as discounts for gaming gear and accessories.
Both PS4 Slim and Xbox One S are represented in Walmart's Black Friday 2016 lineup, with the PS4 Slim bundle arguably offering the better deal. Each console is being sold for $250 a pop, but the PS4 Slim comes included with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End as well as a $30 gift card that players can use to pick up another game while they're shopping. The Xbox One S bundle, meanwhile, includes the critically-acclaimed Battlefield 1, but no gift card.
Gift card or not, both console deals are solid, and rival any of the other console deals we've seen in Black Friday ads so far. To that end, Walmart is also offering some of the best deals on video game accessories. Consumers shopping at the retail giant this Black Friday can pick up new PS4 and Xbox One controllers on the cheap, for just $39 each. They can also pick up a Turtle Beach headset, compatible with both PS4 and Xbox One, for $25.
On the software side of things, Walmart's Black Friday 2016 ad continues to impress. Consumers can purchase the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for $57, which allows them to acquire not only Infinite Warfare, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered as well. Since Infinite Warfare's Legacy Edition typically goes for $80, buying it at $57 is quite the steal.
Meanwhile, many of 2016's other big titles are also being discounted. Fans can purchase games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition and Tom Clancy's The Division for just $25 apiece. Other games, like the Doom reboot and Recore, are enjoying even deeper discounts, being sold for $15 each. If that weren't cheap enough, there's also games set to be sold for $8, including the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, the recently backward compatible Skate 3, and Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
Overall, Walmart's Black Friday 2016 ad seems to indicate that it will have the best discounts for gamers when compared to the competition. While there's still a few Black Friday ads that have yet to surface, it's a safe bet that gamers will likely get more bang for their buck at Walmart this year than anywhere else.
Walmart's Black Friday 2016 event kicks off at 6pm on Thursday, November 24th.
