Telltale Games revealed yesterday during PAX East 2017 that it will be releasing The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Episode 3 on March 28th. The new episode, dubbed “Above the Law,” will continue the story of Javi, the season’s new protagonist.

The developer revealed a short trailer to the Pax East crowd that showed some exciting and emotional moments from The Walking Dead Season 3’s third episode. Those in attendance confirmed that the episode looks to live up to the previous two episodes in the season.

The third episode for A New Frontier comes more than three months after the season debuted in December. At its release, Telltale Games broke away from tradition and released two episodes at once, rather than just one.

While gamers were happy about the addition episode at the time, the wait for another episode has been tough to bear considering how exciting and highly praised the first two episodes were. That being said, many diehard fans of the series were wary of the developer's decision to shift perspectives between Clementine and a new character, Javier Garcia.

That said, Telltale Games’ process for releasing new episodes is highly dependent on how players react to earlier episodes. With that in mind, it’s not surprising that the developer took its time releasing a new episode in the series.

There’s little doubt The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 3 will stand up to the high standard Telltale Games has set for itself when it comes to the game’s quality and mechanics. While the game itself isn’t a challenge to play, the troubling decisions and outcomes of the storyline and characters is both compelling and engaging, and provides an experience for gamers like few other games can.

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Episode 3 is set to release March 28, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
