The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners was a bit of a surprise when it launched earlier this year. While many may have written off as yet another generic zombie VR title, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners actually earned mostly positive reviews, and has cultivated a dedicated following from virtual reality enthusiasts. Now the developers at Skydance Interactive are looking to expand on The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners with the Meatgrinder Update.

The Meatgrinder Update is coming to The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners at some point in July, with the main addition being the new Trials mode. The Trials mode is essentially the Horde mode-equivalent for The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, with players killing waves of zombies utilizing any of the main game's weapons that they want. This includes everything from standard pistols to even a copy of Negan's iconic baseball bat, Lucille, which players can craft in the main game.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners' Meatgrinder Update should give fans of the game an easy way to just enjoy the action without having to play through chunks of the story or deal with the survival mechanics. While most Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners reviews have been positive, some critics did point out that the survival mechanics marred the experience somewhat, so the addition of this new mode should appease them at least.

Looking ahead, The Walking Dead fans have even more virtual reality content to look forward to on the horizon, with The Walking Dead: Onslaught VR game coming at some point later this year.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners is out now for PC through Oculus and PS4 through PlayStation VR.
